18 Comments on 3 Statements That I'm Sooooooo Tired of.....
How to respond when you get the questions. Who knows? Let me know if anyone has good scripts
Shelton
Shelton- I answer them the same way I did here. No scripts....but with a large team I guess it's easier to have one.
Go Mandi! Yes, I get tired of the negativity. News Flash! There are positive things happening out there!
Yeah, tell me about it! Here they ask me... "so how's the market?" Then they lean in with wide eyes all waiting for a sob story. Goobers.
Goobers!!!! HAHAHaHa........
I'm with you Mandi as sometimes the consumer will believe anything the Media spews forth and it bursts their bubble when they hear the truth. Not to brag but I'm averaging one closing per week so far this year. Must be the worst market in history!!!!!
Karen- I know!! It especially grates on my nerves when agents do this.
Greg- Goober! LOL!!
Cameron- I just wish that the media would give the consumer the full story. But negativity sells so that's what they report.
Mandi - Well said my friend! To piggy back on Cameron's thoughts, if the media would stop with all the doom and gloom, the masses would stop buying into it.
It's our job to let them know the positive aspects of Real Estate, even if the media won't.
Great job dispelling these myths about the market!
Featured in the Group "Whacked!!!"
I get to hear these all the time too. I think people simply buy into what they hear on a regular basis and nothing will change their minds until they are confronted with the truth.
Times like this I tell a client that I can get you financed........Do you want to buy.........i have lenders that do actually pull it off. Then I look lik a hero.....Don't let the comments discourage you.
Craig- That's exactly what I'm doing!
Richard- I'm honored
JL- yep they usually find out when they loose a home that they really like
Scott- Oh I'm not in the least bit discouraged....I just wish that the media would report the whole truth about what's going on with the real estate market.
Whoo Hoo! Gold Star for Mandi! Great job... great post!
Mandi - I have a neighbor whom I wrote about on AR once - he has a knack for making lemons out of lemonade (yes, you read that correctly).
Karen- The little gold star is for the posts featured on the entire AR site (the ones you see when you log in). But I personally happen to think being featured in a group is just as good......especially one as cool as Whacked!!! Keep blogging....you'll catch onto the little things here quickly! I was confused about the gold stars when I first started too.
Jason- I actually remember reading that post. There is almost always a way to see something in a positive way.....as opposed to the lemon way of thinking!
Mandi - Those three comments are the same in any market. People want free advice and what better way to start up a conversation. I am trying to respond with questions rather than provide answers. for eg: market kinda of slow huh? " that depends on your motives, are you planning on buying or selling?
I agree with you Mandi, especially about #3. I haven't encountered one problem with a buyer of mine getting financing whatsoever. If the loan officer pre-quals them in the beginning, he has never said no later on.
I have to be careful about those questions, especially if the agents that recommend me are asking. I am having a pretty good year. (but don't tell anyone)
With out a doubt, once they have asked you they will also ask their hairdresser, grocery store clerk and in-laws. All of those people seem to have an opinion of how the market is doing and where it is going.
