Picking the right office to work in (for new and experienced agents) is so important.  At my office located in Piedmont (Powdersville) South Carolina we have the best atmosphere.  I have never had an agent tell me that they didn't have time to help me if I had a question.  If you need to know the name and number of a good home inspector, termite inspector, roofer, etc. all you have to do is go down the hall and someone will have what you need.

We are all different, but get along so well.  I feel that our office is very rare indeed.  Don't get my wrong, there is competition within our office, but it is healthy competition.  Helping each other is a daily activity.  I have found that working in this environment has allowed my business to grow more than I could have dreamed.

Going into the office is a pleasure for me as I look forward to seeing my friends.  Yes, friends!  I have seen agents co-list properties because they found out that the Seller of a property that they were listing had also contacted another agent in our office.

I know that there are other offices like mine around and would love to hear abut them.  By the way, if you're a Realtor in the Upstate of South Carolina, come by and visit!

I work in a similar office environment where we are all there for eachother.  I looked into several offices when I first became liscensed.   I could tell right off the bat that I would be happy where I am today!!

Being a part of an office that "works for you" is important. This might mean something different for different agents. There are agents who want to interact with other agents and spend time in the office. There are agents who want no part of this. So it's important for each agent to find an "office culture" that will match what they need and where they are comfortable.

Great post...I'm proud of the culture, atmosphere and overall professional ambiance at my office as well in Goodyear.  It's truly important to our success that our physical environment not only be conducive to work but provide the people support that makes us the best that we can possibly be.

In my opinion, the office you join is probably the biggest decision you will make in terms of your career. Every agent's success depends upon the office environment and culture, and being in the right office for that agent. Not every office, even within the same company, is right for every agent. I suggest all agents should meet with different local offices, even if they are happy where they are, since their situation can change from year to year.

Hi Sheri! This is a good post! I believe it's crucial to your career to pick the right company. I had no idea when I started and was interviewed by the mayor of our town(our co-broker). She took me on even before I could go to school. I sat in on all the meetings and even went on tour each week till I had a license. Now I work from my home office, use my own logo and my career is on the fast track. Life is good! Good luck to you!!!
