Have everyone in your household take part in Earth Hour, and turn off all lights from 8:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. 

Earth Hour was the largest voluntary power down ever in 2008, with more than 50 million participants.  Landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome's Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square were dark for an hour.

The number of cities and towns who have signed up to switch their lights off this year has already exceeded the target of 1,000 set by Earth Hour organizers. Over 1,190 cities and towns across 80 countries have committed.
