Great article...I couldn't have explained it any better. Many buyers do not understand the letters or designations behind our names and we typically have to explain them. Agents with designations like ABR, e-PRO & GRI have furthered their real estate education by continuing to learn about ways to assist their clients. Some agents don't feel the need for designations, but to me...it proves how important it is to professional agents to constantly grown their knowledge base to better serve their client.

Heather,
Thanks for your comment. In these days of "better, faster, CHEAPER" it important to understand that better and faster do not usually include cheaper. Too often when sellers try to save money by opting for a flat rate or discount service, they lose out in the long run. The old adage, "You get what you pay for" applies to real estate services, just as it applies to any consumer item. Designations indicate that a Realtor takes their business seriously. Part-timers and fly-by-night agents rarely invest their time and money to earn professional designations. Kudos to you for your accomplishments!
