The Worthington City Council approved new zoning for the Kilbourne Building.

According to the article in the ThisWeek Community Newspapers Worthington edition the building is also known as the 752 Building. I think of it as the old administrative office for the Worthington City Schools. I had a client who worked there years ago pre email? Pre everything being online anyway, so I used to drop things off there to her.
The This Week Worthington article by staff writer Candy Brooks says the building has been vacant for 7 years. I was thinking the administrative offices had moved to E. Wilson Bridge Rd before that. I thought they'd moved before September 11, 2001.
The City of Worthington bought the building so that it could not be used for anything other than a "public use."
The new zoning in the news allows other uses.
The ThisWeek Worthington article says: "Worthington City Council on Monday night approved rezoning of the vacant building on the Village Green from S-1, special uses, to C-5, the zoning category that permits a wide range of uses in downtown Worthington."
I thought the article said what the possible uses were.... there it is in the very first paragraph, if it was a dog it would have bit me.... "a shop, restaurant, office or even a house."
hmmm it does NOT have a lot of parking for a restaurant or even office use. Want to live in Old Worthington? Want to live on the Village Green? 5900 + square feet. Three just a bit smaller than 2,000 square foot condos? That is just me thinking out loud. I was thinking more smaller condo's but parking....
In former lives the brick building that was built in 1927 was originally built as a library. It's been used as a school and obviously the school administration building.
