The news is a troubling vessel of misinformation, yes I said it.  All you hear is, foreclosures, home prices spiraling, we are at the fringes of a depression.  Then, after the commercial we here, now‘s a great time to buy, interest rates are at a all time low, house prices are at their lowest.

How can a first time homebuyer make a decision??  You can convey the economy in shambles, banks not lending, and turn around and tell our first time home buyerss to buy???  Let me help with the message; ignore your news, it's not exactly city related; and if you are in a city that still seeing growth, then yes, it truly is the time to buy, even become a landlord, these rates and deals won't last forever.  Housing will always run in cycles, look at history, it doesn't change.  What you lose in your home you may have now; you will double on the next end.

If you are renting, and your credit is good, you have everything in your favor... Really!  Buy a house, and turn around and get $8,000 from the government, if you are eligible???   Sign me up!!!  Contact your local Realtor and take advantage of an opportunity that you may never see again....

Now is the time to buy and sell, just look at the finish line, you will be the winner in the end.

Howdy there Frank

It very will could be a good time to buy a home. I also think that some First Time Home Buyers, are holding off. Because they just ain't sure what may happen at their job's. So many folks have been geting layed off, all over the Country. Don't get me wrong here, I am not at all saying that it's not a good time to buy. I'm just pointing out what could be holding some folks up on buying a new home at this time.

God Bless America

Good post. I agree with Dale, people are worried about their jobs. I wrote a post about it recently.

Dale, I know you are right on track; however, as in the past, one who waits too long loses out.  Thanks my good friend for stopping by.

Hello Gita,

Yes, and I agree with you and Dale; however, there are still many with secure jobs that are worried, and I'm afraid that they may miss out on a prime opportunity.  The news is "doom and gloom" but it's localized and not city specific.  There are some cities that are in good shape and our first time home buyers should take this opportunity before the banks dry up completely and make it even more difficult.  There is the 2009 home buyers gift in place, but you really have to have all your ducks in line to be able to use it.  If you can, you are able to get a great deal, if you can't now's the time to get your credit and finances up to speed so that you can.
