Donna. I wouldn't have guessed so many parts of CT would have been hit so hard....like Litchfield.  They were talking last night about the "steals" in the Hamptons....

That is lousy news for you guys up there.  I see that Alabama is ranked 42......guess that's why I've been able to avoid the foreclosures thus far.

Donna being 14th is not good news for the State, but on the other hand I am in Middlesex county. which is a large county for Connecticut and we only have 58 foreclosures.  A lot better than the rich folk in Fairfield County with 475.

Hi Donna,  It is great to see that Connecticut Real Esate Agents are blogging.  We just posted an article from the Connecticut Post that talks about the steps the City of Bridgeport is taking to fill foreclosed homes.

Yikes, that is scary.  We are seeing more and more short sales & foreclosures in Portland (Oregon, not Main :) ).  We have been fairly insulated until recently, partly due to still being affordable but we are all experiencing the pressure of the economy.  I knew it was inevitable that I would represent a client in a short sale and I am sure there will be more to come.   I think you are smart to be versed in the process, in some areas short sales ARE the market.  Good luck!

Debra - I hope that the numbers will be changing in a more positive direction too.

Katerina - I knew the Northeast would be the last to feel the brunt of this and welcome the opportunity to help those who may be need to do a short sale.

Liz - I was a  bit surprised myself to see Connecticut ranked that high.  What really surprised me was to see the rise in the Fairfield County area which is where the biggest percentage of expensive homes are.

Carole - I'm afraid we're going to start seeing a lot more steals as these foreclosures continue to rise.

Bill- Looks like Massachusetts is sitting right in the middle of the pack.  Not great but not real bad either.

Ann - You should consider Alabama very fortunate to be ranked 42nd.  Hopefully it will stay there.

George - Middlesex County has faired very well through this so far.  The Fairfield County was a real eye-opener for me.

Kasey Group - I think it's so important that we get this information out there good or bad.  I'm so happy that Bridgeport is taking steps to do something to help and will check out your post.

Beth - We're definitely starting to see a spike in the number of short sales being listed.  While homes here have not depreciated as much as it has in other parts of the country that have really been hit hard it is a hard pill to swallow.
