Freetown Ma is a small town with less than 10,000 residents. It is located in Southeastern Massachusetts, bordered by Berkley and Lakeville on the north; Rochester on the east; Acushnet, New Bedford, and Dartmouth on the south; and Fall River on the southwest. Freetown is about 12 miles northeast of Fall River; 37 miles south of Boston; and 23 miles east of Providence, Rhode Island. The beautiful Assonet River runs along the west corner of Freetown. Lakes include Long Pond and Forge Pond

There is one public school located in Freetown, Freetown Elementary School , serving grades pre, K - 4 The school is home to about 550 students.  The Freetown/Lakeville Middle School serves grade 5-8,  and the Apponequet High School serves grades 9-12.
