If you had never lived where there is snow, you could think tundra, igloos, darkness round the clock.

mars hill mountain, big rock Maine ski viewIt's not like that and this Maine community video shows that. No unhappy people in this one and yes, it's winter. Four seasons, real seasons have their benefits.  Do you enjoy outdoor living where you are and what do you like about your area of the planet? Maine is up here in the right hand corner of the world, and Mars Hill Maine's Big Rock is right on the Canadian border like much of Aroostook County.

Since 1960 Big Rock Ski Area has provided friendly, family oriented low cost down hill skiing fun. After the purchase in 2000 by the Maine Winter Sports Center (MWSC) through grants available from the Portland, Maine - based Libra maine broker, maine real estate, mooers realtyFoundation, the operation just keeps getting better and better. Ski, snowboard, tubing and some social night life all on the mountain that is one of the first places in Maine to feel the sunrise each day.  How much fun do you have there? Check out another in our Maine community video series. This one I shot, edited and posted from March 21st trip to enjoy the spring like temperatures and totally cloudless bright blue sunny sky at Maine's Big Rock Ski area in Mars Hill. Family friendly prices and even free corporate ski nights on Wednesdays!

It might not be tundra, igloos, and darkness round the clock, but it's cold! We have four seasons here in San Diego: Rain season, flower season, drought season, and fire season.

I like white fluffy snow and then crystal clear blue skies and sunshine. Not cold this tim of year and snow melting with strong longer sun. 19 degrees is the average winter temperature in Maine.
