Every time I come on Active Rain I discover something new.  Well, that may be an exaggeration but it sometimes seems that way.

When I go to Google I often discover the same thing.  It is always a work in progress.  Change after change and almost all for the better.  Today I clicked on the Labs tab under Gmail Settings and found several new features.  One that I know I will be using is the Undo Send.

Have you ever written an e-mail, hit send, and then immediately think of something you would like to express differently or something else you would like to include?  I have and more than once.  Now those that use Gmail have the opportunity to do exactly that.

Luckily on Active Rain we have the ability to hit edit as soon as we realize we would like to "undo" a comment or change something in our posts.  I have used this feature many times.  I am sure I will use the "undo" feature on Gmail.  Once you hit send you have a short grace period of a few seconds (so you'd better think fast) to cancel sending.  You are then able to edit your message before sending it again.

Labels, similar to folders, help organize your messages.  You can move your messages to appropriately named Labels  Now Gmail provides a range of colors so that Labels can have their own unique color and enable you to find the Label you are looking for more quickly.

If you have not checked out all of the features available this may be the perfect time to take a look.  You  might find many things that will impress you.  I have hardly scratched the surface and so I plan to learn and use more of the time saving tools available.  Of course I say that about all of this technology...my Blackberry, my computer, my digital camera, and on and on and on.

It's about time that I mentioned that Gmail is free for those of you that do not know that. Yes, you read that right...Free.  Here is the link if you would like to learn about what's new in Gmail, http://mail.google.com/mail/help/about_whatsnew.html.

Kathleen, I think they should call that the second thought button.  Have a great day. Thanks.

Draft Mode!!! I love it!

Sometimes I write a post and then let my wife read it. If it gets to that, she usually says something like I know you really mean that but you do not want the world to see it!

Kate - I use gmail, but have it routed into my Outlook.  I'm thinking about having all my other emails routed into gmail, just because of this new feature.  Wow!  You made more work for me!  LOL  Thanks pal!  :))

I went to Labs yesterday, too.  Cruised through quickly and fell in love with gmail all over again.  Those guys and gals are amazing!  It makes the other email programs I've worked with look like Tinkertoys!!!

Hi Kevin...That's a good name for it.  There are so many possibilities:  Wait a Minute, I Goofed, Second Chance, etc.

Hi Charles...As soon as I begin a post I put it in draft mode.  I suggested once that it should be the default.

That's a great feature in Google also.  There were too many times I'd start writing a message and then get side-tracked.  It also enables me to give a message more thought before sending.

Morning Carol...I have all of my other mail routed to Google.  To tell you the truth I like seeing what they've done to their heading everyday, especially on holidays.

Kate, I heard about this on the news however, I believe you only have 5 seconds to change your mind!

Hi Jane...Maybe we can get them to up it to 5 minutes!

When I read your comment my first reaction was:  Hey, I'm a woman, I change my mind every five seconds.

How sexist and I consider myself a feminist.

Kate, any kind of Undo or Unedit feature helps slow us down with our hyper selves and I think is good to add more content or undo and error. Or God forbid not send the email to the wrong person. LOL.

Kate, Technology is moving at the speed of light--and some days I'm barely moving :)  I will never keep up with all of it but I will try my best!

Google is amazing.  I am amazed at all the things going on.  Now you can even go under the water in the oceans all over the world.  I love gmail.  They now have an "unsend" feature!  That is great!

Kate - I am thinking of re-routing my other email address through Gmail for several reasons.  How did we survive without Google?  when you think about it is has only been around for a short while.
