I had to really read to figure out what exactly was going on in your post and what the variety of URLs had in common.  I will check out your link and your community.

Drew,

Great platform, I like it a lot! Still figuring out the secondary advertising part, but that looks like a great overlapping income source for many of us here on AR.

Thanks for putting this together!

Michael,

Thanks - I'm really glad you like what we're doing, and I'm looking forward to exploring its use with you - in generating income, as well as in stimulating connections within the local small business community.

I believe A Greater Town offers enormous potential for Active Rain members to interface with small business owners in an alternative way. It provides an unique opportunity to introduce ourselves not only as Realtors, but also as internet marketing experts.

There are three sources of income immediately available to AR members:

- Arranging sponsorships - www.agreatertown.com/montclair_nj/advertising_sales_reps_needed_for_a_greater_town_00089460

- Setting up mini-websites for small business:

- Selling videos:
www.agreatertown.com/montclair_nj/sbvr_small_business_video_resources_00086113

The splits we are offering are generous (75%) and there is real money to be made!  I just sold $500 worth of mini-websites, and took an order for another $300 job. The work itself only takes a few hours at most to complete, and as I mentioned, it offers an entirely different and original way to interface with business owners.

If anyone wants more info, please call me at 973-783-3226.

In the meantime, I'd like to invite the AR community to post profiles, listings, community info, photography, etc, on our site. Here are some examples of RE related posts: www.agreatertown.com/global/editors_picks/Real+Estate and others featuring art, culture, community and business: www.agreatertown.com/montclair_nj/editors_picks_00089316

Thanks again,

Drew

This just in from Michael I. Pulskamp, Mainstreet Brokers: "BTW, today my agreatertown.com post

beat my longstanding website on the google search 'Amador County Real Estate!" Very impressive!'

Seems that AGT has potential to grow into a powerful search engine tool!

A Greater Town seemed to be the solution to make the general public aware of the businesses, services offered, accommodations for travelers, etc. for the small town of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

Progress for my small business in regards to finding sponsers in regards to sales involving this issue, unfortunately has been slow. I have posted, reposted, personally contacted, emailed, and called perspective clients in hopes of accomplishing some success as a sales representative for A Greater Town.

I have succeeded though in having a couple of clients recognized on the google search engine. Other than that it is difficult to approach them with a perspective sales pitch for a sponser's advertisement on the Roanoke Rapids site when I remain in the dark myself. This issue pertains to the legal  formalities required that I need to be knowledgable of personally. For examples: Is there a legal contract that both parties, A Greater Town and myself, must both agree to the terms of commissions paid for sponsership sales, to be signed: is there a 1099 Tax Form; are sponsership contracts supplied by the company or to legally drawn up by my attorney and submitted by myself. Like I previously mentioned, I literally stand in the dark as to being informed on many issues involving being a Sales Representative for www.AGreaterTown.com  I have read and re-read all the information provided, inquired by telephone, but have not yet received any information concerning the legal aspects, requirements, or conditions.
