Rumpelstiltskins Eatery & Bar – A Great Place To Dine In St. John’s

By
Real Estate Agent with Sutton Group-Capital Realty Ltd.

If you walk through downtown St. John's, Newfoundland, you will notice old buildings, narrow roads, and one way streets all characteristic of the old capital city.  There are not a few bars and restaurants along your route so you can stop in for a drink or relaxing lunch.  Sitting at the harbour front, you will observe several ships docked with anticipation for the next trip out to sea while others are coming and going.  St. John's is a major port of call for the oil industry services and many Canadian east coast shippers.  In summer, don't be surprised to see a luxurious cruise ship resting there for the day.

Rumpelstiltskins Eatery and Bar is a restaurant that offers you a comfortable table overlooking the harbour.  It sits at the base of a street called "Hill O Chips", just a two minute walk west of the Fairmont Hotel.  My wife and I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed.  We have enjoyed the good food, excellent service and of course sitting at the harbour front taking in the view.

I can heartily recommend the restaurant for a relaxing lunch or quiet evening dinner and can assure you that in spite of its name you won't need to worry that it will cost you your first born son.  A delicious meal will only set you back for something less than $25 per person.  And drinks from their attractive bar are available for any who just want to kick back with a flask and have a yarn or two.

The staff are always delighted to greet you and show you some of the warm Newfoundland hospitality that St. John's has become famous for.  When you are there, say hello to the General Manager of operations, who sports a distinctive moustache, Mr. Michael Autexier, and Billie Woodford, one of his happy co workers.  Be sure to tell them you read about Rumpelstiltskins on Greg's Blog.  I cannot promise it will give you a discount but I am pretty sure it will add a little extra delight to your greeting.

I googled the restaurant, thus got your site.

We have reservations at the Quality Hotel in August for our 20th wedding anniversary. Really looking forward to touring your area and enjoying the harbor.

Hi Sue,  Thanks for saying Hello.  I am so glad you found this and I hope you enjoy your stay in St. John's.  Downtown St. John's is unique and delightful.  August should be a great time to walk in your shorts and shirtsleeves right along Water Street or the harbor front.  The restaurant is quite lovely.  My wife and I love it there.

Cheers.

Greg
