Last week, a long time client sent me an email. "We decided to buy a 2nd home in a resort, my wife is so excited" (they have 4 children and I knew them as newlyweds).
He asked if I could refer him to a Realtor and even gave me the name of the brokerage firm that they know is in the area they want to "look" (and perhaps purchase).
After a couple of days I got an email. "We are so excited because several properties fit the criteria and price of what we are looking for and we are headed to that area over the weekend to take a look. Prices have dropped 30% to 40% so there is so much available that will be suitable!"
My heart skipped a beat for my friend because I felt his excitement.
The next sentence read something like this....."what if we buy and it isn't the bottom?"
How many people are holding out because they think it is not yet the bottom. FOR WHAT? For How Long? Life is too short. "If you see something you like, Buy IT!" is my advice. What are you waiting for and what if it is not the bottom, who cares?
I bought a property in 2002. If I hadn't bought it, I would have missed 7 years of great family fun, times we shared, games, kayacking in the ocean, parties with friends.....No price, even if it became valued less than 2002 TODAY, would make up for the memories and good times that we were able to share just because we JUST "DID IT."
