Role of the Realtor

Generally, the first one you consult about buying real estate is a real estate agent or broker.  Real estate agents provide very valuable advice and information on many aspects of you buying your home. 

 When you hire a Realtor, you get many great benefits: assistance in figuring out a price for your home by looking up comparable homes one the market, sold, and expired so you can see what you need to.  It is a partnership, but you are still in control. ; Advertising via Internet, newspaper, real estate magazines, emails to top Realtors, mail-outs to neighbors and friends, MLS, etc...; Broker open- this is where other Realtors from several different companies view your home; company caravan- Realtors from within their own office viewing your home; Open houses-walking your neighborhood and surrounding ones advertising the open house and putting into paper and emailing it to top Realtors; Assisting you through all the legal paperwork and disclosures,( and boy are there allot of them); helping to to negotiate the best deal for you and helping that deal to go as smoothly as possible; making sure all inspections necessary are done; putting on lock boxes and signs in the yard; making sure your transaction is recorded properly, etc...  As you can see, a Realtor is or great benefit to you, making sure you stay out of trouble by making sure everything is done according to the law.

A Realtor is held to a strict code of ethics to make sure you are protected.  They must make sure clients interests are their utmost concern.  They owe their client a fiduciary relationship, while they must deal fairly with anyone else.
