Palm Springs, the oasis of the desert, was once the hang out of the famous and sometimes infamous rat pack. While its glory has faded a bit, new celebs are starting to flock to its warm shores. Visitors are starting to add Palm Springs to their trip planning agenda and are heading for the vintage stores to grab some retro-chic souvenirs.
If you prefer to hit the golf course, rent one of the affordable vacation rentals near one of the more than 100 golf courses and hit some puts within walking distance of your rental. Or, if you prefer more rugged-looking outdoor scenes, hike along some trail in the Indian Canyons or Mount San Jacinto State Park.
Take a guided tour of the many homes that still reminisce about by-gone areas with their mid-century architect. Who knows, maybe you’ll run into that elusive ghost of Elvis as you pass his former desert home. And, after that long walk searching for Frank, Dean and Sammy, drop into one of the worn, but still vibrant establishments and grab yourself something cold to drink. And, have fun, man!
