About Us:
My background is sales and marketing. I have sold everything from commercial cleaning and presort mail to street sweepers. Every company that I have worked for has been the best at what they do. I would never work for a competitor in any industry that I have worked in because I feel that in order to do well you must believe in who you are and what you do completely.
Most of my family is in the mortgage business. My sister Kim escaped the industry because she is an extremely talented musician-check her out at www.thirdwishmusic.com The rest of us got started because of my oldest brother Michael. He has been in the industry in many capacities for over 14 years, and at one point had his own company. My sister Amy worked as his processor after working at a finance company out of college. Anthony (Tony) worked with Mike after returning home from Florida to help take care of our sick dad. Mike decided at the time that while he was great as a loan officer, he was not so great at the business end of things. They went their separate ways. Amy and her long time friend Heather opened a mortgage processing company in Westminster, MD. Mike went to work for another broker and Tony decided to open an Allied Branch, I think he liked the stability of a National company.
When I had had enough of traveling and nights in hotels, I was lucky that Amy's business was booming and she needed help. She taught me the business, line by line and disclosure by disclosure. I worked with Amy and Heather for 4 years, learning the ins and outs of mortgage processing. I was blessed that they allowed me to bring my new daughter (Sydney Marie, now 2) to work with me. By the time Syd was crawling (at 9 mos.), it got too hectic to bring her into the office. Tony was working by himself and needed somebody to help him. I was able to continue to bring Syd to work, and help him to organize his office and process loans. I decided to get my mortgage originators license a few months ago. We really work as a team. I do the marketing, including a monthly newsletter that is sent to past clients, prospects and referral partners, as well as the processing. Tony is really the money guy. He makes sure that the customers get in the right loan for them. I get the loans to the table, on time.
Areas of Expertise
The great majority of our business is by referral. We have many customers that we have financed, refinanced and financed again at new homes. What I like about working with Anthony (although he uses Tony for business and with friends, the family always called him Anthony) is that not only does he do what he says he will, he will go out of his way to ensure that folks don't get the wrong loan for them. He has actually turned customers down because refinancing would not be in their best interest. I am still learning the loan officer end of the business, but I don't think I could have a better teacher.
We have never missed a closing date, and the loan gets to the table with the same terms or better than discussed at application. We attend every purchase closing, and almost every refinance closing. Our goal is to educate the borrower and to make sure that they are informed during every step of the loan process. We also contact our borrowers and, if a purchase, both the buyer's agent and the listing agent, on a regular basis to ensure open and on-going communication, No one ever has to wonder what the heck is going on.
We have a fantastic team of professionals that we work with from title companies and appraisers, to home inspectors and insurance companies. We have a client referral list for everything from landscaping to roofing. We also work with life insurance providers and financial planners to assist our clients in their whole financial picture. We don't want to close one loan and be done, we want to be your partner for your life!
In this market where lenders are changing programs on a daily basis, we keep our clients informed. We strive to help clients that are FRUSTRATED by brokers that don't do what they say they will, CONCERNED about changes in the market and STRUGGLING to find the RIGHT loan for their situation..
We are not afraid of competition. We don't always have the lowest rates or the lowest fees, but we are competitive. Our clients not only refer friends, but they become friends. We will let a client know if they have the right loan, or if we can do better. We have even referred clients to other lenders that had programs that we could not offer because it was in their best interest.
