I am a full time licensed Broker that sells in both St. Joseph and Elkhart counties. I was recently honored to be named Prudential Real Estate 2007 Listing agent of the year for St. Joseph County. I work extremely hard in making the selling and buying experience to be as stress free and enjoyable as possible for all of my clients. I am E-Certified, which means I put a lot of effort into the internet and new technology to serve my clients and I have passed the requirements to be certified as a Fine Homes Specialist through Prudential. Areas of Expertise
I list and sell in all of St. Joseph county and about the northern 2/3rds of Elkhart county (Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Bristol and Wakarusa). I work with a pretty diverse group, from the 1st time home buyer to the Million dollar listing, my goal is to provide my client with a great experience that will last beyond just buying or selling a home. It gives me great satisfaction to help someone by their 1st home, the excitement that buyer has when they get handed the keys is incredible. Soon, by the summer of 2008, I will be licensed in Michigan as well. I have been getting a lot of experience lately with Loss Mitigation for people that are going into foreclosure. I have helped people save their credit by doing a short sale on their home and avoiding foreclosure, but more importantly, I have helped people stay in there home by working with mortgage companies to do loan modifications instead of foreclosure. This is a problem area in Real Estate that will be around for a little while unfortunately.

To Whom it May Concern:
On March 10, after unsuccessfully trying to "sell by owner", we decided to contact a realtor to list our home. We e-mailed 3 companies asking for an agent to contact us that would aggressively list our home. Within hours, we were contacted by Barry Skalski. Our initial meeting was to take place on March 13, which we felt would be ample time to hear from the other realtors that we tried to contact. Fortunately, we never did receive a reply from the others.
Barry explained in detail the process of listing a home. His manner and expertise impressed us to the point of listing with him and starting a very successful journey. He walked through the house with us and explained some of the things that we had to do to prepare our home for viewing. Although the changes were minor, they were major in the eyes of the potential buyers.
Barry put together a very aggressive ad campaign for us and within days of listing we had 3 showings. By the 1st week of April, we had an offer to buy. After some negotiating on a final offer, Barry came to us with an offer that was very close to our asking price and we accepted.
We believe that it was because of the attention and professional manner which Barry handled our listing that it was so successful. In the future, if we were in need of a realtor or have questions about realty, it is without hesitation that we would contact Barry, our realtor and friend.
We have not said much about the company that barry represents because he takes the business/client relationship out of the picture and makes it a one on one personal venture.
