About Us: Masha's Bio

If you're here I'm assuming you're considering buying or selling a home, and you're ready to choose a Realtor®. And that's why you're reading my Bio. You might be searching for a real estate professional with experience, and, maybe more than experience, you want to find an agent with real estate knowledge. So let me tell you about myself:

  • Within our Board of Realtors® I teach Agency concepts (buyer and seller representation) to all the new members of our Board. And for several years I've been active on committees that formulate local Realtor® policy, as well as having been a Director for five years on our local Board of Realtors®. I've been recognized by my real estate companies as a TopTen Realtor® and by the Board of Realtors® as Top 5% Realtor® for several years.
  • Within the community I'm active in my local church, Calvary Chapel, in Montville. My husband and I have been members there for almost 20 years. Our work within the church has centered around teaching marriage skills, including communication techniques, that improve a couple's marital satisfaction.
  • Lately I've focused on my realtor-based education and have earned the ABR® designation (Accredited Buyer Representative) to improve my service to Buyer clients. I'm licensed in both Connecticut and Rhode Island, and I hold a Real Estate Broker's license in Connecticut. I've just completed my GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute) designation this Fall, which broadens my overall real estate expertise. I'll also be earning the ePro designation which greatly expands my understanding of the ins and outs of the internet and allows me to improve my seller clients' positioning on the net.                                                                                           
  • So after 19 years as a Realtor®, I have acquired the knowledge to guide my clients through the complicated process of buying or selling a home. I hope to be able to use this knowledge to represent you in your next real estate transaction.

Areas of Expertise

I work with all kinds of buyers and sellers in the residential real estate Market. I sell high-end homes, and homes to first-time buyers using the Connecticut First-time Homeowner program, CHFA. And I work with folks that are trying to buy a new home while living in their 'old' home (which is probably the most difficult project possible).

My first goal is to help my client, either buyer or seller. This means getting very involved in the entire process. With a buyer client, from advising about mortgage options, points, closing costs (we'll calculate the amounts for various kinds of mortgages), and timing, to suggestions on how to structure an offer to purchase, what things to include in the purchase offer and which things to avoid, I stay involved because I'm the best resource they have in moving through the homebuying steps. Helping my client get through the process with ease is my ultimate goal. Less complicated, less stressful, less disruption to their 'normal' lives.

 With a selling client, staying in touch is primary. Calling, visiting, and showing the property are the highest priorities for getting the house sold. Checking a potential buyer's mortgage qualification is important, and staying in touch with all the players is one of the most important services your realtor will accomplish for you.  

I'm aware of these important areas of client contact, and stay involved and connected throughout the sale. Even though I've been serving clients for almost 20 years, I have become more aware, not less, that the realtor is the anchor in the complicated, and often frightening experience of changing homes. My services focus on making the process less complicated, less scary, and more predictable.
