- Description
- Former educator and commercial website designer now working with Century 21 in the beautiful Quinte region in southern Ontario, Canada. My "Internet Advantage" service is described in my profile.
About Bob:
Hi. I have come to real estate from a career as teacher, vice-principal, and coordinator for our local school board with the responsibility of leading a team to implement computer-assisted instruction in more than 45 of our schools. My experience in developing websites goes back to the early days of public internet use in 1992, and my wife and I have been doing commercial website design for about 8 years now.
Each of us comes to a role in real estate where we must use all the skills in our repertoire, and I am finding that my background helps me to provide extra services that I have branded under the title "Internet Advantage". The eight extra things I do for my clients are listed in the section below titled, "Areas of Expertise".
I am also very pleased to own the http://movingtothecountry.ca website, which is rated first on Google for searches of the terms "moving to the country" on both Google and Yahoo in Canada. This site offers practical advice to people considering a move from a urban to a rural environment (What is a septic system? How does it work?), and I will soon be developing it as a vehicle for marketing rural properties that will be open for use by other realtors.
Synergy beats competition every time. I look forward to working with other realtors as we find new ways to serve clients better.
Areas of Expertise
Internet Advantage Listings:
In addition to my print media ads, signs on the lawn, listings on MLS and open houses, each of my listings gets:
1. A comprehensive website with both slideshow and video tours. The website provides information not available in MLS listings, such as information about community faciltiies and services;
2. A featured listing on MovingtotheCountry.ca, for all farms, lots, rural homes, village homes, cottages and waterfront properties;
3. The website address prominently displayed on a sign on the property;
4. The video is posted on YouTube;
5. An ad for the property is posted on Kijiji.com and/or Craigslist.com;
6. Postcard ads with a link to the website are distributed in the community;
7. Featured advertising on YourHomeinQuinte.com; and
8: Other promotions used experimentally as this service grows. (Google adwords, displays in Second Life, etc.)
Approach
Promoting the best interests of the people I work with means that I have to learn about where you are, where you want to go, and then find ways to help you make your goals a reality. In other words, my service is "you" centered.
My approach is pressure free, because I personally don't like to deal with salespeople who try to rush me into a decision or influence me to buy something that doesn't quite "feel right" to me. I believe in providing my clients with the best information I can obtain and then giving them all the time they need to make good decisions both with their heads and their hearts. That's the way I want to be treated, and that is how I treat my clients.
