About Us: Your Santa Barbara Guide

REALTOR Chris Casebeer has the knowledge and experience gained from over 30 years of continous real estate practice.

Chris was first licensed with Pitts & Bachmann Realtors of Santa Barbara in 1974.   He learned his craft from the best, David Pitts.    Specializing in homes, condominiums and buildable sites gave Chris a broad knowledge of the Santa Barbara market.   Later in 1980 he opened his own firm, Casebeer & Company, Inc over the Chase Bar & Grill at 1012 State Street.   In 1993 the office moved to 1335 State Street where it still operates from.    Being an Independent Broker Chris provides a full complement of real estate services for Buyers, Sellers and Owners of Santa Barbara properties.    From 1998 through 2007 Casebeer has closed 126 escrows.   Over 95% of these Buyers and Sellers are repeat or referral customers.

In order to be well connected within his community and profession Chris made a commitment early on to serve the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors which culminated as being Present in 1993-94.   Chris was honored as REALTOR of the Year in 1995 and Honorary Memebr for Life in 1997 by the Santa Barbara Association of REALTORS.   He has also served the California Association of Realtors and National Assocation of Realtors.

Chris has served as President of the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table, Santa Barbara City College Adult Education Advisory Committee and chaired/founded Men Against Domestic Violence.   He has served on the Boards of Domestic Violence Solutions, Victoria Theatre Community House, Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, UCSB Athletic Directors Advisory Commitee.    In 2005 Chris received the R.F. MacFarland Memorial Trophy by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table for his contributions to youth athletics.

Chris's greatest personal accomplishment are his two kids Charlotte and Jeremy.   Along the way he coached each child in youth sports.   Charlotte in Goleta Valley Girls Softball and AYSO Soccer.   Jeremy in AYSO Soccer and then as his fan with Santa Barbara Club Soccer and Volleyball.    Charlotte is studying Recreational Therapy at Chico State University and plans to graduate in 2008.   Jeremy attends UCLA and is studying business and plays on the Mens Collegiate Volleyball team.

Chris loves to travel.  In 1999, inspired by the Buena Vista Social Club movie,  he made his first trip to Cuba.   It was in Havana that he met the love of his life, Teresita Ana Berriz.   Over the next five years Teriana and Chris cultivated an email friendship that turned into a full blown relationship.   Ultimately Teriana and her daughter came to Santa Barbara in 2004 to visit which turned out to confirm their love and devotion.   They were married on October 2, 2004.    Teriana now attends SBCC where she is improving her English skills.   Maripaula has attended SBCC where she made the Dean's List and plans to transfer to UCSB where she will study Biology/Conservation.    Along the way Chris's Spanish has improved.

Chris first came to Santa Barbara in 1964 to attend UCSB.   He majored in Economics and received a BA degree in 1969.   His minor was in Intercolligate Volleyball.   In 1968 he was selected to the 2nd Team All American of the USVBA,   In 1969 UCSB won the Collegiate Division of the USVBA National Championships in Knoxville Tennessee.

What I do best.

If you read Chris's long list of testimonial letters, without a doubt, patience and listening to the clients needs come up as subjects that best describe Chris's talents.    Being a product of marriage and family counsoling, Chris has learned that the less he talks the more he can hear what the other person has to say.   This produces results.

Testimonials from those who know about Chris

"There are over 800 professional real estate people in this market, but the only one I would consider is Chris Casebeer. I first learned of this UCSB graduate years ago when, as an employee of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, I was informed that when our Trust and Investments Division had real estate to sell, Casebeer was their first choice to com-plete the sales transactions. I concluded that if he is favored by the bank, that was all the recommendation I needed."
-George Kallusky

"I have been involved with Chris as my broker in four transactions over the past five years. I can say without hesitation that he is a person of extremely high integrity, with a very strong desire to please. Compared with other brokers I have used in the past, I'm especially impressed with Chris's reputation. All one needs to do is walk down a street in Santa Barbara with him to discover that he is well known and very well liked in that community. I've also found Chris to be quite creative when it comes to solving the sticky problems which always seem to come with any real estate transaction these days."
-Dave Carpenter

"Here is what Chris did for us . . . showed us everything in our price range . . . talked us out of buying a house that was less than we really wanted but for which we were ready to settle . . . found the house of our dreams BEFORE IT WENT ON THE MARKET . . . negotiated its purchase at a fair price and good terms . . . ensured that proper house and property inspections were conducted . . . introduced us to a good lender . . . resolved numerous escrow issues, and there were a lot of them . . . closed escrow on time . . . brought a bottle of champagne and took us to dinner . . . stayed in touch after the sale."
-James and Linda Laponis

"We initially interviewed two Realtors from two of the large franchises in town. Then we interviewed Chris Casebeer . . . Not long into the interview, we knew Casebeer was the one. His office exudes the style of Santa Barbara, a far cry from the sterile, massive offices at the franchises. More importantly, Casebeer made us feel that he would be working for us, the buyer. That he relishes the opportunity to spend time with and educate us as first time buyers. That he was committed to us and our search for the home that matched our vision. His spirit is apparent in all that he does, as is his passion and expertise in real estate. Knowing we were in good hands, we began our search."
-Chris and Stacy Ulep

"As a single woman making a big change in her life, I felt very comfortable knowing that you and your knowledge of the real estate market would help make this transition possible. The many reassuring and informative phone calls back and forth between Chicago and Santa Barbara during the negotiating period were professional and very supportive, and kept me calm during a normally stressful time. Your easy and sensitive manner made me feel confident that everything would fall into place - and it did! An additional bonus is your knowledge of this town and the people in it. If I have a question about anything from hiking trails to professional services, you always have well informed suggestions."
-Marilyn Conrad

"Chris, Thanks for the concern and follow-up. I am really at a loss for words to express our awe and appreciation for the volume and quality of service that you continue to provide. In the past two years we have experienced at least six purchases or sales of real properties. No other broker or agent (including family) has even come close to the caring or the serving in our best interests on either side of a real estate transaction. You more than earn your commission. You can be assured that this current transaction will not be our final one together. Thanks again."
-Dale & Madeleine Godfrey

"Dear Chris, this is to thank you for the wonderful service you provided me in helping me find the "perfect" home here in Santa Barbara... I first came to Santa Barbara in the 80's and you were my realtor then...You helped me buy and sell 2 homes while I was here. When I decided to return to Santa Barbara... there was never any question that you would be the one I would call to help me. All through the years, since I first met you, we have been in contact. You have always been available for advice and information about the real estate market here in Santa Barbara. I admire your professional manner and friendly and caring attitude. I have always felt like I was in "safe hands" when working with you. You spent a lot of time with me determining my needs and helping to guide me. You were patient with me and listened to what I was saying and helped me determine what I was that I really needed. When it came time to make the final decision, you helped me clarify what it was that I was able and willing to do and then "do" it. Never did I feel that you were putting your own need ahead of mine and you were always available to listen to my thoughts and concerns. I will always be your loyal friend and client... This adds up to my vote for the best realtor in Santa Barbara. Sincerely,"
