About Us:

Hi, my name is Christopher Mulder.  I started my career in the lending business right after I graduated from St. Louis University, in St. Louis, MO.  There I earned a bachelors degree in economics with a minor in accounting.  Upon graduating, I moved back home to the Inland Empire.  Once I was home I enrolled in the American School of Mortgage Banking out of Irvine, CA.  I immediatly began working for American Home Mortgage, a large direct lender.  I came to HomeQuest Financial a year later and have been with them ever since. 

I left American Home Mortgage because I realized early on that the business model of a direct lender can not compete with that of a brokerage.  We operate in a very competitive world.  Direct lenders can't compete effectively with brokers all the time because they only have their product.  If their particular program has a particular rate, that doesn't mean that they have the best rate.  Remember, all money is the same regardless of the bank it comes from, what changes is the price (interest rate).  Bank of America or American Home Mortgage may have 1 product that has a phenomanal rate but if you don't quite fit in that box then the rate changes higher than what the next bank has.  Because HomeQuest Financial works with over 70 different lenders, we can put you in touch with the bank that specializes in loan programs that fit your situation.  That ultimately means you'll get the best interest rate for your situation...and remember all situations are different.  Which is why a 1 size fits all large direct lender can not be competitive in today's market place on all scenarios.

We work with over 70 lenders.  Being a broker has distinct advantages over say a Countrywide or an American Home Mortgage whom are direct lenders.  We have the ability to match you up with a bank that specializes in your situation.  There are banks that specialize in lending to people 1 day our of BK.  Likewise there are banks that specialize in loaning to borrowers with the best FICO scores and there are lenders that specialize in loaning to the investor and developer.  We have the ability to put you in touch with the lender who specializes in loaning to someone like you and because of this, a broker has something that the big direct lender doesn't - options.  We don't just have one rate sheet like a direct lender has.  We have the rate sheets of many many banks allowing us to find which bank has the lowest rate and the best deal for you.  This is the advantage of being a broker.

We have been in our home for 13 years, and our credit history has had several negative reports. Our loan was secured by Christopher and closed in such rapid fashion and we never felt at anytime that he was judging us in a negative - degrading manner. Without Christopher, his tenacity and belief that our circumstances were not developed in malice, we would not currently feel that a hugh financial burden has been lifted and we can finally breath.
