I am originally from Macomb, Illinois.  Macomb, you ask where that is???  No, it's not by Chicago!!  Macomb is home to Western Illinois University.  I was born and raised there.   I graduated from Macomb High School and was a Bomberette during my four years, our version of the dance squad.  I continued to live there while attending Western Illinois University.  I graduated in December of '98 with a Bachelors degree in Business Management.  I was recruited by Super Target out of college for, at the time, a very nice salary position.  I took the position in January 1999 to be an Executive Team Leader, Assistant to the Store Manager.  I was originally supposed to move to Omaha, Nebraska for training and they switched last minute and sent me to Cedar Rapids.  I trained in Cedar Rapids for 3 months and really liked it here.  From there they located me to Waterloo, IA, then to Davenport, IA, and  then to Iowa City, IA.  During this time I meet my husband, who was living in Cedar Rapids and we wanted to call Cedar Rapids home.  So after my daughter, Caitlyn, was born, I realized that Target or retail was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.  I had always wanted to take the courses for real estate, so I quit my job and did it!  While I was growing up, I was always sketching houses.  So... no wonder I ended up selling them for a living.  Cedar Rapids is where I felt I should be.  The Cedar Rapids area was so friendly to me when I moved here to train with Target and it just felt like home.   So I took the real estate classes and got my license.  Wow!!!  I was legal, now what???  Well, I would have to say that my first year was not a record breaking year.  I didn't know anyone, except for the people that my husband worked with at Target!  So it has taken me some time to grow my business, but thanks to all my clients, past clients and friends, I have a thriving business in the Cedar Rapids Metro Area.  I now have three children Caityln, 7, Ethan, 5, and Adam, 1.  In September I moved to Coldwell Banker Hedges to work along side First Construction and be their Sales and Marketing Director for College Farms.  Which is a complete fit for me!  I am so happy and lucky to be doing what I love!!
