A big part of feeling comfortable with anyone you work with is having confidence they are knowledgeable in their field of expertise. You need to know they will tell you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear and you should trust in their commitment to integrity and living their life by the "golden rule"--that is, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Professionally speaking, I have been a realtor for six years with the same broker (translation: loyalty, commitment, respect). I am a strong believer in education, so I have attended many continuing education classes offered through various realtor associations and attend both the annual state and national realtor conferences which are rich in educational content. I am an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative creditation); a CSP (Certified New Home Sales Professional designation); and a GRI (Graduate of Realtor Institute). I am certified through NABPOP (National Association of Broker Price Opinion Professionals) to do Broker Price Opinions for Valuation Service Companies and Asset Protection Departments of Banks.
In addition to real estate, I work in the ancilliary business of interior decorating and staging with Candace Carlson of CB Design Studio (www.cbdesignstudio.net).
On a personal level:
For my"reality check," I am a Wish Granter and an Airport Greet for the Make-A-Wish Foundation here in Lee County. I am also a member of the Lee County Autism Society.
I was raised in New Jersey and in addition to living in New Jersey, I have lived in Tucson, Arizona; Redondo Beach, California; Oxnard, California; and Estero, Florida.
I love to travel and have had the opportunity to not only travel extensively throughout the Caribbean and Mexico but also to work and travel throughout Europe and parts of the Middle East (I worked and traveled with a gentleman who was an adviser to OPEC Leaders); and Africa as a member of "Builders without Borders." We traveled to Rwanda (we built three buildings to serve as a High School and Technology Center) and to Kenya to investigate the possibility of building an orphanage. By the way, while in Rwanda I had the unique privilege of seeing the Savannah wildlife of Akagera National Park, walking in the footsteps of Dian Fossey, and sitting with one of our closest living relatives, the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas in their unique mist-shrouded habitat atop the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda.
I have two beautiful daughters, Faith (13) and Caitlyn (11) who are the loves of my life. Together we have three cats--Angel (female and grumpy); Riley (male and obsessively hungry; he also loves to lick your closed eyeball--WEIRD); and Mischief (male and the most affectionate). All we really wanted was one dog but we have three cats instead--Go figure!
I am the oldest of four children--I have two younger brothers--one in New Jersey who owns his own business and a brother in Hawaii, who is a Captain in the Marines; and a sister in New Jersey, who is a career Mom.
My favorite cartoon character is Tigger from the Winnie the Pooh series because he is fun-loving, bouncy, and ALWAYS positive. He lives life as if the glass is more than half full.
