Personal Details

Use this section to write about yourself - don't be shy - Why should a buyer or seller want to work with you? Do you have any certifications and qualifications? What sets you apart from other agents/loan officers?

I received my sales license in 1977 at the age of 24 and became a broker in 1980 at the age of 27. I became a partner of  Sierra Scotty Realtors, which had operated in Jackson since 1958 under my father-in-law Scotty Guletz. I was the top producer for the company from 1980 until 1995, handling hundreds of transactions ranging from homes to large ranches.  In 1996 I merged with my current business, Coldwell Banker Award Realtors. We are and have been the number one company in Amador County for more than 10 years running. I am a Past President of the Amador County Association of Realtors and a Past Director of the California Association of Realtors. I hold the GRI designation.

I have two sons who both work with Coldwell Banker. My oldest, Neil, is with our company, making him a 3rd generation Realtor in Amador County.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where I obtained my bachelors degree in 1975. As a young man I was very active in sports and I continued that involvement as an adult, where I coached Little League baseball, youth soccer, youth basketball, junior high basketball and high school tennis. Currently I play tennis and golf to keep myself in shape.

My community involvement includes membership in the Jackson Lions Club and Jackson Elks. I have served our local school district as a member of the Curriculum Committee and the District Advisory Council, and I spent one term as a member of the City of Jackson Planning Commission.

My wife Gretchen is a School Nurse with the Amador County Unified School District.

Professional Expertise

Use this section to write about your specific areas of expertise. Do you specialize in first time buyers - listing high end homes - etc. Are there specific market area's that you specialize in? The more you write about your area's of expertise the more knowledgeable you'll sound to a potential buyer or seller.

In 30 years of business in Amador County I have had the opportunity to handle the entire spectrum of real estate, including city lots, small acreage, ranch land, river frontage property, income property and commercial property. I have worked with many investors who obtained their properties through Sec 1031 exchanges and have been responsible for structuring complicated commercial and lease-option transactions.

As a managing broker, I have the responsibility of supervising over 30 agents and assisting them in their transactions. All of this gives me a very extensive background in real estate transactions of all kinds.
