My Real Estate Experience
I have been in real estate since 1999, I started as a receptionist in a large office of 80+ agents. I answered phones, in-putted listings into two MLS systems, and maintained office files. About a year later I became a personal (unlicensed) assistant. This gave me a great opportunity to learn more about the actual processes for all types of transactions as well as what really goes on in an agent's office. Within the next year and a half I decided I pursue my real estate license.
In Colorado there is no licensing for assistants, so I received my broker associate license. It was never my desire to have my name on signs, or to be a fully active agent/broker. I always enjoyed showing property and being able to handle all aspects of a transaction if necessary. This also made me more valuable and marketable to agents, as I could fill-in at any time. I was an in-office assistant for three years, before beginning my Virtual Assistant position. While I was a licensed in-office assistant in the Denver area, I also hired Virtual Assistants. Therefore, I realize what it is like to be on both sides of the VA world. Thanks to my real estate license (which is not currently active), my experience in the ‘field' and in the office, I offer my clients real world experience!
Virtual Assistant
I enjoy being a VA as it allows me to do what I like best about the real estate world. I can use my real life experience to assist agents with many of things that need to be done while an agent is out doing what they do best. Agents need to be face to face with people - meeting clients, showing homes, and listing homes. I can assist with much of the behind the scenes things to keep the pipe line flowing.
I realize to some that it is a new concept to hire someone you have never met, and probably never will, however in today's technological world it is not as uncommon as you may think. There are many advantages to having a Virtual Assistant on your team. You don't have to train me on systems and products; you don't have to provide me a desk, a computer, or lunch breaks! I NEVER share proprietary information! I am connected to a world of other VA's that share ideas, products and product knowledge! If something is working or there is a free offer going around, I share this with all of my clients. I can provide suggestions to you on what is working or not working and cost analysis for many products. Just imagine not having to do all of the research and learning curves for new ideas/systems you want to implement. It's like being thrown a life preserver and being RESCUED!
Personal
I am a Colorado native, although I have also lived in Arizona, California and Washington. My husband of 20+ years grew up on Lake Erie in Ohio. We have 2 children - our daughter attends college in North Carolina, and our son is in high school. During the fall you will find us at marching band competitions cheering on our son's band; we are also active on several parent groups at the high school! We are active in our church community as well. We enjoy time with family and friends and try to take time to enjoy many of the special things Colorado has to offer.
