White Mountains of Arizona

The White Mountains of Arizona is a lovely area located about 200 miles NE of Phoenix in the High Country of Northeastern Arizona.  The pretty little mountain communities of Show Low & Pinetop-Lakeside feature some of the prettiest country in the entire State of Arizona.  This is Tall Pine Country with many Lakes & Streams and the communities are surrounded by National Forest Land. 

The elevation in the area varies between about 6500 feet all the way up to 9800 feet in the far eastern part of the State.  The communities feature year around activities like Fishing, Hunting, Golfing, Hiking, Biking, and any number of Summer Festivals sponsored by our local Chambers of Commerce.  In winter we have Skiing and Snowboarding.  Yes, we get snow, sometimes a lot of it, but it doesn't stay on the ground too long most of the time. 

Summer temperature usually range between the high 70's to the low 90's during the hottest time of the year.  The average summer temperature usually is around the mid 80's.  Perfect weather for that picnic or backyard bar-be-que. Winter temperatures while quite cool will range between the low to mid teens at night to the low 40's during the day.  We will even see an occassional 50 degree day in the winter.  Compared to the Northern Climes of the USA, our winters are quite mild.

Our area is a favorite summer get-away for the low landers of Phoenix & Tucson who are seeking to escape the sweltering temperatures of the low deserts.  Shopping opportunities are abundent with lots of little gift type shops to explore or your traditional grocery and big box stores.  As our communities grow, so do the shopping opportunites.  

If you have never visited Northeastern Arizona, the next time you are cruising down I-40 heading to or from the West Coast, take a quick side trip down to our area and look around.  I think you will be delightfully surprised.
