No one in their right mind will buy/sell homes in the middle of winter

I had a Home Seller tell me that they were told that "No one in their right mind will buy or sell a home in the middle of winter." You see their home had been for sale for 3 months, did not sell and recently expired with their old agent. The statement was made by their old agent and could not be farther from the truth here in the Manchester NH area.

Buyers do buy and Sellers do sell in the middle of winter. The question of whether it is a good time, depends if you are ready to buy or sell. Those ready to sell can be rewarded with a quick sale, little competition and quick offers. Those ready to buy, face fewer offers on the same property they want to buy. Ultra low interest rates and a nice selection of homes to see.

SELLERS simply need to make sure their property is ready to show in winter. That means your driveway and walks should be shoveled and Ice Melt used to get down to pavement or cement. Shovel your deck and back doors too.

BUYERS simply need to be ready to see property in winter. Wear warm clothes such as a North Face coat, winter boots and bring slippers to wear when you get to the house.
