FAREGROUND AUSTIN https://faregroundaustin.com
Fareground is something very exciting for Austin. It's Austin's first food hall and was on Zagat's list of the 30 most anticipated restaurant openings of 2018 across the US. It's an inside-outside, play-work, early to rise and late to close dining spot close to the center of downtown Austin. There's plenty of seating available, it feels like a metropolitan marketplace where you'll find 6 local vendors with their own one-of-a-kind concept that is distinctly Austin.
You can dine inside at large communal tables or outside at cozy tables and chairs, or bring a blanket and picnic under one of the historic oak trees and enjoy the fresh air. Fareground has never been built before and is becoming downtown's hub for everything from business lunches to Sunday brunches. As they say on their website "it's not just a place to go, it's the place to go!"
What you'll find at the Fareground... Ni-Kome for Sushi & Ramen. Their sushi bar features combination sushi lunches and the ramen menu includes Marudori which is whole chicken broth along with vegan options...Antonelli's Cheese Shop that offers themed cheese plates, cheese & mac bowls, grilled cheese selections along with gourmet sandwiches and seasonal specialties along with complimentary cheese tastings on site!...Easy Tiger bake shop where you can start your day with an espresso and pastry, a pretzel sandwich for lunch or dinner or grab a loaf of freshly baked bread to take home....Contigo where you'll find locally sourced, natural chicken cooked on a rotisserie perfect for dining in or you can grab it to go with one of their house-made sauces along with a salad and side...Dai Due Taqueria features tacos, tortas with Gulf seafood and innovative veggie combos.
All of their tortillas and masa are made in-house with Mexican heirloom corn milled on site and Henbit where you can get red fife kolaches with chorizo, cheese & local chiles for breakfast and redtail shrimp poke with crispy rice salad for lunch. Whatever you decide, Fareground is definitely becoming a walkable downtown destination where everyone wants to gather.
