- Toni and I serve as a husband and wife team. Our talents compliment one another so that our success in real estates sales has proven to be exceptionally good, keeping us in the top 5% in our office.
About Us:
I have been a real estate agent for over 5 years and have enjoyed a phenomenal success in this industry. I came to real estate with over 30 years of sales, sales training and sales management experience so the sales part of real estate was no problem. The Houston, Texas brokerage in which I have chosen to "hang" my license, has over 1,000 agents spread over 23 separate offices throughout the city. My second year with the firm I was ranked in the top 20% and the past three years I have been in the top 10%. While in my personal office of 120 agents I have consistently stayed in the top 5%.
This year I finished by training and obtained certification for my GRI, (Graduate Realtor Institute). Other training, this year, included a license as an arbitrator for the real estate tax appraisal board in Harris and surrounding counties.
Two years ago, my wife, Toni, retired from our local school system where she served as an elementary school Resource Center Director, (fancy name for Librarian), and upon retirement teamed with me as we formed the Scott Team. She recently completed her training and obtained her ABR, (Accredited Buyer's Representative), certification.
As Toni and I finish this year together, we will again rank among the highest producers in our company and I will again enjoy being nominated to the Prudential President's Circle for the third time, which includes the highest producers in the nation for all the Prudential brokerages.
Areas of Expertise
One my personal areas of expertise in marketing and selling real estate is that I was able to bring my hobby as an amateur photographer into my real estate business. Due my real estate photographic capabilities I have been ask to teach seminars on real estate photography to other realtors and to date have taught my 2 hour class at several title companies. Although I am, in a way, training my competition, I enjoy teaching photography and speaking on the subject that I gladly volunteer my time and expertise to all those who will listen.
Along with my still photography skills, I have coupled them with virtual tour photography which has proven to be a heavy selling point in my listings.
As a result of my photographic skills, my listings have gained somewhat of a notoriety in my office as they seem to garner more visits to the MLS and to my personal and company websites than the average listing. I have had properties sell themselves from the pictures only, and these were from out-of-town buyers wanting to come to Houston and see the property. Some of the listings sold within days of being placed on MLS, which is rare, in our Houston real estate market. So, you might say that my real estate expertise lies in finding, marketing and selling new listings.
Toni, on the other hand, has also proven to be very helpful in the listing arena in that she has become a Certified Stager and will stage my new listings, making them ready for show and sale, prior to my ever taking the first picture of the property. A well staged home not only shows better and is easier to photograph, but also sells quicker and usually for a better price than expected.
Toni's other skill lies in her ability to work with home buyers, particularly first time home buyers, as she makes the process simple, easy and understandable. She has worked with a large number of first time homebuyers and has been very successful in this area of real estate sales.
Together, we have managed to create a team showing and selling concept that has proven to be very successful. So much so that one of the local schools of Real Estate training has extended an invitation to me to join their staff of instructors and to teach a course on Real Estate Marketing.
