I went with someone named Ron Rodrigue out of Elm City Home Inspection in Oakland Maine and a long story short...he is wonderful!!! He basically helped me negotiate the price of my house from $47,000 to $38,200 with everything he found wrong in the house using an infrared camera (only 3 inspectors in the state of Maine own one). He is as thorough as they come and found things I feel that most inspectors woudn't have. He went into great detail on the best options there are as far as fixing everything including my roof, the asbestos in the basement, the evidence of a fire in the house and MANY other things that I do not have room to write about. The $400 I spent on him saved me roughly $9,000. I would highly recommend him over any other if you are looking into buying a new home."
