We are in the largest ponderosa pine forest in the world. There are countless miles of public lands available for recreation. Rodeo fans love being at the place of the world's oldest rodeo. Shopping is more than adequate with 120,000 people served by all the major chains. We have 3 great hospitals and are close enough to Phoenix with Mayo Clinic. Traffic is minimal with no major jams to deal with.

I have lived here for over 10 years. My only regret is not making the move here sooner. Yep it is the dessert. But at 5,000 feet in elevation we cool off 35 degrees at night. I have never used air conditioning over night. Just open the windows and let the mountain air in. we have dark sky ordinances. No lights are to shine up. Our night sky is spectacular. watching from the spa year-round I always see a shooting star or satellite pass by.
