Founders: Lorena Foster is the creative and organizational side of our business. Lorena is Director of Quality, ensuring that no detail is missed. Charities:
The Executive Director of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County
(DVSAS) approached Doug Foster of Keller Williams Realty in early 2008 to assist in creating a new fundraising event for the organization. He had been recommended as an event organizer by a board member who noted his success in helping coordinate other fundraising events.
Mr. Foster joined and the team and was the Chairperson for the first DVSAS golf tournament, held in November 2008. Mr. Foster not only chaired the event planning committee, he took a lead role in managing the execution of the tournament.
Mr. Foster was instrumental in developing this new fundraising event and assisted in raising over $4,500 in our first year of the event. Doug spent hundreds of hours planning the event and was key in developing relationships between DVSAS and the business community. Mr. Foster approached and gained commitment to the event from over 40 sponsors, worked with KGMI to create radio spots, and tirelessly promoted the event, gaining the commitments of many players. He was also the Master of Ceremonies at the golf tournament and helped run day-of activities.
Our 2008 event was a great success and in 2009 we moved to Lake Padden Golf Course and held the 2nd year event. In 2009, the DVSAS Golf Tournament raised over $11,500.00 and became one our largest fundraisers.
Planning for the DVSAS Golf Tournament begins in February and meetings are held at Mr. Foster’s office on a weekly-basis until the event is completed in September. He has devoted countless hours to the cause and delivered a fun and successful.
