My husband and I have been selling real estate since 2002, and have since designed a web site specifically for Realtors in search of meaningful closing gifts.

About Us:

The real estate bug hit us early on, at the ripe old age of 19, going on 20.  Jim purchased his first three family as a sophomore at UW-Madison.  After meeting in 1995, we delved into one project after another.  By the time I graduated from UW-Milwaukee, my passion was real estate.  So, rather than getting a job in my field, I opened up my own real estate business.  Shortly thereafter, Jim quit his "real" job, and we marched over to La Crosse, WI, formed a team in real estate, and made it to the top ten in the county within 18 months...and that's with having our second child in between.  Whew, no wonder I have so many wrinkles these days.  Don't let the picture fool you, it's a few (4) years old.  Needless to say, one part to our transaction was the purchase of a closing gift.  It was also a source of frustration, since I never seemed to be able to find an avenue which allowed me to make a quick purchase but leave a meaningful impression.  So, in the summer of 2005, when diagnosed with a medical issue that forced me out of the business instantly for two long years, I decided to solve what I guessed was others problems as well as my own.  Hence, I opened gotchagifts.net.  It is a site offering unique, yet beautiful items that will provide a lasting impression on the buyer, become a conversation piece within their home or garden, and lead to the coveted referral.  The thought is if you are going to spend your money on a closing gift, why not make it something that will last longer than the time it takes to devour a gift basket or eat your way through a restaurant gift card.  The moment is nice, but then gone.  Currently, we are back in real estate, and we have added mortgage lending to the pot.  I am glad to be back and anxious to have a summer of sales, regardless of the market.  Hope all of you who read this message have an excellent year ahead of you.

Areas of Expertise

Our expertise is in residential and investment multi-units.  We have flipped many homes, duplexes, and multi-units.  So, we are very atune to what to buy and not buy.  Our specialty in this arena is finding investment properties that others don't see the potential in, turning the tenant base, making necessary improvements, upping the rents, and voila - making cash.  We have excellent credentials to help others do the same.  In addition, we have sold many single family homes to all age levels, with exception to the senior population.  Not trying to avoid this group, we just haven't had as much contact.  As agents, we strive to assist the seller in putting their best foot forward before the sign goes in the yard.  Staging is essential for top dollar, especially in this market.  Next, of course, is appropriate pricing.  As agents, these two topics are gracefully enforced.  As for buyers, we rarely work without a Buyer Agency.  Given our background in flipping it is hard to show a house and not be able to point out the positive and negative attributes for each buyer.  We want to be there to support them in the negotiation process, and attain the best possible purchase price.  That strategy usually brings them back a second or third time, since they know we are doing everything to meet their needs.  I hope to assist anyone who may have a client or customer coming to this part of the midwest.  Take care.
