About Kent Washington

Map of Kent WA and surrounding areasThe city of Kent Washington is located west of the Cascade mountain range and is the fourth largest city in King County. It is located directly between Seattle and Tacoma and covers approximately 29 square miles. Kent's culturally rich population is nearing 90,000.
Kent was the second city in King County to incorporate (1890). Kent began as an agricultural area originally growing hops estimated at over a million pounds a year. Much later the Kent valley was known as the "lettuce capital of the world". The verdant valley was subject to flooding until the Howard Hanson dam was constructed in 1963. Over the years agriculture has given way to commercial and industrial development which has led the city in new directions of commerce

GREG SAFFELL

If you were to GOOGLE my name, most of the information that comes up relates to me. There is the REMAX real estate agent, the book author/publisher and the radiologist in South Dakota. I'm the first two, not the radiologist.

Most of my career was in the publishing field, magazines and books. I have worked with many magazine publishing companies over the years in California and Hawaii. I also owned several magazine publishing companies during my 30 plus years in the business.

When we moved to Seattle over a decade ago, I started a book publishing company named Emerald Point Press. I published about 10 books during that time, two were artist biographies the others were about Washington state and the Puget Sound region. Most of the books sold well and it was an exciting and rewarding business to be in. I sold the business a few years ago to another publishing company and still see some of my titles in bookstores and on Amazon.

I lived in Honolulu for a couple of years and worked for Hawaii Business magazine. During my time off, I painted watercolors of popular locations and sold them in the Raker Gallery located in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. I enjoyed living in the islands but moved back to the San Francisco Bay area to take a position with a Health-care publication. Now, my wife and I try to visit the islands once a year as interested tourists.

We favor the big island at the present time and like to stay in the Mauna Lani area away from the busy town of Kailua-Kona, although we like to be in town once in a while. If you find yourself in downtown Kona be sure to have a fresh fish sandwich at the Kona Inn. The restaurant sits right on the water with great views.

Testimonials

I tried to sell my home myself. It was on the market for over nine months. I knew I had to get help and a friend recommended Greg. His assistance and advice in preparing the home to sell surely worked. The home sold in ten days.

I was being transferred to Olympia, Washington from my home in Renton. Greg sold my current home in just over a month. He also found my terrific new home near Olympia in record time. Olympia is quite a distance from Renton, but he was there with me all the way.

I had lived in my home for over seven years but needed to find something larger. Greg provided the guidance I needed to sell my home quickly. Some complications arose during the process that he handled very efficiently. I love my new home and would recommend Greg to anyone.
