About Gretchen:

I have lived in the Portland, Oregon metro area for many years having relocated from the great state of Ohio. I am still a raving Ohio State Buckeye fan. My children (and grandchildren) wear the Ohio State shirts I have given them or at the very least  something red on that "special Saturday" in November when the Scarlet and Grey meet their main rival...the "Big Blue" team from the north. Wearing blue on that day is frowned upon!

My children were born and raised in Oregon and attended schools in Beaverton, Newberg, and Clackamas. I know that schools matter. Good schools generally are an indication of not only the community's committment to education but also can be an indicator of sustained real estate values...homes hold their value over time.  If you are relocating to the Portland-Vancouver Metro Area, I can be a good resource in assisting you in finding the community best for you.

My husband and I moved to the Vancouver area (Fishers Landing) to be closer to his place of employment, Beacock Music. We enjoy music, biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and good food, especially Thai cuisine. In August we especially enjoy the attending the Vancouver Wine and Jazz festival. I can be a good source of information about the area.

Before entering the real estate profession, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Ohio State University and a Masters of Science degree in Management from Marylhurst University. As a Medical Technologist, I provided test results for my clients (physicians and patients) so that they could make informed decisions about their health care. As a Realtor, I continue to provide information so that you can make informed decisions on probably one of your most important  financial decisions.

To obtain these numbers, I lean heavily on researching what other buyers have paid for similar properties and the price range of homes in that neighborhood. It is also a joint effort which requires having the home's attributes being accented and featured with the sellers' actively involved in the process.

I use the same method of research on what other buyers have paid and the price range of homes in the neighborhood. This assists the buyers in making a reasonable offer and can be used in negotiating the final agreed upon sales price.
