The intended purpose of this group is to provide a forum to share information and resources that are of specific interest to those of us dealing with seniors issues, either as a senior citizen or as a service provider to seniors. Our definition of a senior is anyone who qualifies for membership in the AARP. It's also for anyone who provides services to that age group, including real estate (e.g., SRES - Seniors Real Estate Specialists), legal, financial, property maintenance and even healthcare and eldercare. Whether you're approaching retirement or have already arrived at that phase in your life, there are special issues and challenges that are unique to your situation. It's not just issues about buying or selling a home to downsize or moving to an over 55 (55+) community to address accessibility and support concerns. It also involves financial and estate planning for personal as well as business and investment property, business succession planning and being realistic about future health conditions. This is for you to seek advice and learn where you can obtain local help and support. If you have not reached that point in your life, it's still never too early to be learning and planning for the future.
