- I'm a home builder in Southern Oregon my business partner Michael Thirkill and I have been building homes for almost 20. We have built over a 150 homes in the Rogue Valley.
We have two divisions within Suncrest Homes, one is the development side were we build subdivisions and the second is the home construction side. About three years ago we shut down the subdivision building side because we could see lot inventory was starting build up and focused instead on only building homes. It turns out this was a good move for us because over the last three years lot inventory just kept increasing, we can now go out and buy a lot in Southern Oregon for less than we can develop one. The added benefit is that we don't have to service the debt on a large number lots, we only go out and buy the lots that we need for our buyers.
I would say one our forte is creating value we can take a lot and figure a way to dramatically increase the value with what we design and build. We can take a customers budget and can find away to maximize the home we build for them and it look and feel way more expensive than it was. Spending the last 20 years in Southern Oregon we have learned how create quality and value for our customers and in this market that is very important.
Since we design all our own homes we know not only how to get the customer the look and feel they want but we know how to do it as economically as possible. From Ashland Oregon home of the shakespere plays to Crater Lake we have built quality homes for a great value for our customers.
At Suncrest Homes, we begin building neighborhoods before the first excavator digs a single bucketful of dirt. We control and direct our projects from the land acquisition through the planning process, from the development of streets and utilities through the final home construction phase. Charlie Hamilton and Michael Thirkill are the two active owners in Suncrest Homes they have been business partners for almost 20 years now. Charlie's wife Mary Steinbergs is also an owner but is most active in the managing of their rental units. Mary and Charlie have two children Max and Kasey ages 15 & 13. Michael has two boys he is raising, Graham and Logan ages 12 & 17.
