About Stevie
I'm Stevie K. Bear, licensed REALTOR ® and Real Estate Consultant, ABR, CRS, GRI, specializing in residential properties. I've lived and worked in central Texas for 30 years, more than 24 in the beautiful Austin area I proudly call home.
Many changes in this fine city and the surrounding areas have occurred over those years, with major impacts on the real estate market. To invest wisely, you need someone who's lived here through those changes, information like I share on this website and a hardworking, knowledgeable, personal agent working on your behalf to get you what you need. That agent is me!
I came into real estate through what some may call the back door. I bought a house, via an agent a friend recommended, and long story short, got burned pretty bad. The deal itself went alright, however, 6 months after the sale closed, the back wall of the living room came apart during a heavy rain storm, shorted out all our electronics and ruined our living room. What a mess - not to speak of a huge expense!
As the city was requiring me to rebuild the home I had just bought, at quite a hefty sum, and I did not have that kind of money, I naturally turned to the agent I had bought from for answers. As you might guess, they had none. Funny enough, neither did the inspector the agent had hired, nor the engineer the previous owner had hired, nor the previous owner or his agent. Boy was I in trouble!
Being a huge fan of education, and never being one to quit, I decided to find out what the heck had happened for myself. I took real estate courses, got my license, took some courses on building and inspections, and took the classes and instructors right to my house for a look. You can bet we got the problem figured out and pretty quickly too, but, as I soon found out, the battle had just begun, and a mission was born.
Four years in, and several attorneys later, I found myself in mediation with the only members of the original transaction who were still in business. Yes - the ONLY ones STILL in business. The case was decided in my favor, and it was decided I was due $250,000 for all my troubles. I received exactly $9000, which was all that was collectible from the remaining culpable parties. It was just about enough to pay the attorney fees. The battle was won, but the mission had barely begun.
The rebuilding was now up to me. It would cost nearly as much as the house had originally cost, thereby doubling my mortgage payment, Had I not gotten the education I had, I would not have had a clue. Having gained valuable tools for the battle I was fighting along the way, I was prepared, and able to do what needed to be done, and in fact, even able to gain from it in the end. That battle over, I began to focus on the mission the battle had brought to me, to make sure that my nightmare of an experience, did not happen to others
My first home buying experience ended in the kind of nightmare that no home owner should ever have to go through. It made clear to me just how important it is to be able to count on the REALTOR® you place your trust in. Thus I have spent my career building that trust, not just through life time relationships, but through my continuing involvement in a higher level of education, ethics, and customer service skills.
To these means, I have received several designations, and am always at work on other opportunities to increase my knowledge base. I also serve as an officer in my local neighborhood association, and on our local real estate board, and have for years, as committee chairs for grievance and education, as well other capacities. As you can see, I believe it is as important to give as it is to receive. This is why I hope you will give me the honor and the opportunity, to give you the benefit of my expertise, and show you that " the difference is in the knowledge and knowing how to use it."

Testimonials
I was certain I would never own a home, but when rents went sky high Stevie showed me how I could win by creating equity for my future and how to get out of the rent game for good and for very little. Thanks Stevie, you will always be my Realtor

Stevie has helped me buy and sell three times! With no idea what I was doing at first, Stevie made my understanding of the process a priority. I know more about what I am doing now, and will buy and sell real estate again, but never without Stevie.

Dear Stevie,
I can't thank you enough for all the help you have provided for my family and me. I remember the first day we met face to face. You were warm and friendly and I immediately felt at ease. It was obvious to me that your extensive knowledge of Austin stemmed from your love of this city.
As the day progressed, I learned more about Austin from you and you began to understand what my family was looking for in a home. After I returned home it was very helpful that you had an 800 number that I could call you on since we were living out of town. I appreciated when you previewed houses for us then faxed me the MLS listings that met our criteria.
After much searching we found our home. You were very helpful in walking us through the purchasing process. Thanks! Your knowledge of contracts helped us to purchase our home with ease. The finance person that we met through your recommendations list was knowledgeable, efficient and professional. So, when it was time to sell our home here in Austin we could not think of a better person.
Stevie, as you know, the selling process in some ways is more involved than the purchasing process and I really appreciated the time and care that you took in marketing our home. You made sure that no detail was missed. Our home received several contracts over the listing period and you were always available to sit down and review them with me. Your availability did not go unnoticed. As you are aware, one of my close friends asked me for your name and number. She was equally satisfied with her home purchase and your relaxed professionalism.
Thanks so much for all your help.
Sincerely,
Ryka George
