CHAPTER TWO
An Educated Consumer is our Best Client and Partner

When we met over 20+ years ago, we always knew we would do something good together. We just didn't know it would be more than having our family; it would also be working as business partners helping others through the exciting, emotional roller coaster of real estate buying and selling.

As master music producer David Foster said in a television interview on CBS News Sunday Morning, "you got to love what you're doing. It sounds so basic, but why do what you're taught to do, [if it's not what you love to do] do what you love to do." So many of us start one path in life and stick with it because we are stuck in it.

We took a leap a few years ago and decided we could be the best for each other, our children and those around us if we knew we were getting up every day to do what we love -- delivering unparalleled real estate consulting and service that leads to continuous sales with satisfied clients. We started in real estate in the 90s as investors buying a couple of single-family homes and becoming landlords while nurturing our budding corporate careers.

Eventually Beverly began doing real estate part-time in addition to her corporate job. When given the choice to go full steam ahead in the corporate world, she took the leap of faith and went into real estate full-time instead.

Now in the business for almost seven years, she is a Broker-Salesperson with an expertise in real estate staging as an Accredited Staging Professional(ASP). She leverages all of her creativity, technological know-how and corporate public relations experience from when she worked with celebrities and top executives at WNET/Thirteen, Sony, and IBM. She turns that depth and breadth of enriching experience into promoting the major investment of people she and Bob meets. This helps insure every seller gets the most out of their house they worked so hard for in the first place.

We revel in the joy when a buyer says "you got me, this is good, you know just what I'm looking for...this is perfect." We do a lot behind the scenes to get to this point and it shows our client we care, we listen to what he or she is looking for and why, and we really investigate the area for just the right place he or she can really call home.

Bob has taken the past couple of years in real estate to transform his mindset to understanding the real estate transaction process whether the client is looking at bank-owned properties, considering a short sale or a regular sale. He has been able to take his economics background and love of numbers and turn them into extra ammunition for our buyer and seller. Being a whiz at computers and uninhibited when it comes to bringing solutions to the table doesn't hurt either.

He is also e-Pro certified: the only technology certification program offered by the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The program is designed to prepare real estate professionals to make the most of internet technology and to identify, evaluate, and implement new internet business models. The elite group of course graduates represents only one percent of all Realtors.

We specialize in West Orange, Maplewood and South Orange and conduct transactions throughout Essex and Union counties.
