About Me
As one of the original founders of www.AlaskaOne.com in 1993 and president of @MOTION, Inc. for 12 years, I learned how to promote people and their products using both electronic and print media. The many experiences I encountered built on my University of Utah business degree and years of programming and computer networking experience. The most rewarding thing about my time in Alaska however, was meeting and getting to know the clients.
For years, I had the pleasure of managing a small group of employees in Alaska and we were both educators and trusted advisors to our clients. Still to this day, many of our former clients think of my wife and me as friends even though our original relationship was strictly vendor-client and now we have been gone for several years.
After moving to Clark County I spent a few years in building and land development where I enhanced my knowledge of real estate with experience in financing, land contracts, zoning regulations, construction and real estate investing.
In the middle of what generally thought of as a bad market I decided that the culmination of all of my experience and skills was to represent other people in their real estate interests. Not just a sales person, mind you, a real estate consultant. My 12 years in Alaska taught me the personal value of getting to know your clients and being there for them when they need assistance.
Even though entering the profession of REALTOR built on much of my past experience, there were specifics which I needed to learn to be able to offer the best service to my clients. I engaged on, and continue to pursue, a rigorous training program so that I can be of upmost value to my clients.
To encourage me to maintain balance in my life, I have three children which you can see pictures of on our website home page. I also participate in their school and other activities. I don't watch TV but do spend way too much time on computers. I love Cribbage and Pinochle, gardening, reading about science and especially space and physics. I am a habitual tinkerer and always trying to figure out the unknown.
I particularly love a challenge and excel in finding ways to make things happen but at the same time you will not find that I beat-around-the-bush and do not believe in promoting false expectations in my clients. Honesty is one of my most valued attributes and I do not believe that ethics are situational.

I am a seller's agent in Clark County and have a good deal of knowledge about the short-sale process and a depth in marketing and technological experience that most agents cannot match.
The internet is fantastic and has opened many doors to both agents and real estate consumers. Due to my past experience, I am uniquely positioned to take advantage of how the internet now fits into the world of real estate.
I work alongside with my wife who, I think, is the world's best buyer's agent (in my humble opinion <g>). Kidding aside, we are both completely full service and go way out of our way to take the best care of our clients and make sure the client's needs are being met.
Currently we have one assistant to make sure everything happens like clockwork but as my customer you will work directly with me from listing appointment through closing. You will always know who is responsible to you for whatever your needs are and never feel "passed around" the team. The phone number listed is my cell phone and I carry it everywhere and in the event I am on the phone when you call I will return your call promptly.
We have experience marketing our listings through over 28 internet portals. Everything including the photos, flyers, brochures, virtual tours, Craigslist postings and more are designed to look exceptional and to stand out in the buyers mind. You want your property to be the one that gets noticed AND remembered and we can do just that.
In most cases, a property will sell for its highest price if it sells within the first two weeks of being listed. We coordinate the initial announcement of your property much like a stage show and when the curtain goes up we want everything to be in place and working for you.
We market our listings through over 28 internet portals including our local websites Vancouver Real Estate as well as our national website www.RealtyExecutives.com. Our electronic strategy is saturation and we have found that to be far more effective than print advertising. You will receive a by weekly report on marketing activity. In addition to the electronic rollout, we coordinate the photography, virtual tour, printed brochures and flyers. Listing your home is truly a production and we take that very seriously.
Along with the initial roll-out, the other period which is critical is the period from receiving offers to closing. This is where the experience of a great realtor will make or lose you money. In a fast market, things are easy and most any realtor can get a deal through but in the current market the number of "busted" contracts and seller concessions are way up. You need a realtor that can work to keep your deal on track and moving toward close. We call this the negotiation and transaction management stage and we have implemented processes and procedures to help our clients get the most out of this phase of the home sale process.

Based on my marketing experience I do not believe that one size fits all. In my listing presentation you will not find a copy of "the" marketing plan that every client gets regardless of situation but instead you will find out how I work with clients to develop a marketing plan for each property that is best for them and their situation.
And just as I tailor the marketing plan to the strengths of the client and their property, I tailor my marketing services to take advantage of the unique strengths and expertise my experience brings. You will not find our approach duplicated by any other agents.
As an overview, we are on the leading edge of technology when it comes to marketing property. Craigslist is one of the most important venues for exposure and we have customized a Craigslist template which offers potential buyers more information and easier access to the information. We have implemented statistical tracking of our Craigslist ads and our listings normally get between 100 and 200 viewings a week just off Craigslist. Many of those visitors move on to our main website, www.nwip.com where they can see more pictures and a virtual tour of each property. Like Craigslist, we find a great deal of value in the virtual tours and create tours which are usually about five minutes in length showing all of the best features of each property.
Another feature we employ is interactive voice response or IVR. We make recorded information about your property available 24 hours a day on our special toll free line. Some buyers are more receptive to audio information, some to printed information, some to pictures and some to video. We present your property professionally in all media forms so as to appeal to the most buyers possible. As with Craigslist and all of our other marketing efforts, tracking is important and our IVR system provides detailed statistical information about who calls, when they call and where they saw the information about your property.
As with most agents, we provide an "in-side" brochure in addition to the flyer which gets placed in the sign in front of your house. This in-side brochure provides additional pictures and information which people viewing your house can take with them. We also have the technology to create custom CDROM's which can be handed out or sent by postal mail to people who are interested in your property whether they have viewed the property yet or not. We also provide a special custom version of the virtual tour to the ultimate buyer of your home as a thank you gift to them for purchasing your home. Buyers love this and can send it to friends and relatives to show off their new home.
One of the big advantages we have when it comes to "electronic curb appeal" is having a professional photographer on staff. We usually take around 200 pictures of each house and then adjust and combine them back at our office to create flyers, panoramas, virtual tour frames and in some cases print media advertisements. I have heard from a number of sources that the current market is "a price war in a beauty pageant". The more beauty your advertising can portray the better you will fair in the price war part. Having your home professionally photographed would normally cost you upwards of $1,000 and you get that for free by listing your house with us. You will not be disappointed in our presentation of you property and in fact, I would challenge you to find another agent who does a better job at this.
I do not have a one price fits all service. My listing book has several options depending on each client's need and factors relating to the property being listed. Depending on the house being listed and your timeframe for accomplishing that we will find a price for our services that works for you. And of course, you only pay us after we have helped you close the sale of your home.
One service that I regularly give away free is my Initial Home Marketing Consultation which can be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. In this meeting I attempt to educate clients about our unique way of doing business and answer any questions they may have about the process of selling a home. Only after I feel that both the clients and myself are satisfied that there is a good match between myself and the client's needs do we proceed to list the property.
