What is home staging?  The term "staging" roughly covers all the process of preparing a property for sale.  However, it usually refers specifically to removing extraneous furniture & accessories and either using the home seller's present belongings to "decorate" the home in a pleasing manner, or bringing in rented furniture, artwork, area rugs and greenery to accentuate the positives and downplay the negatives.

Occupied Homes:  Sellers have the option of a walk & talk consultation (with written follow-up), or we can do the actual staging for you.  By teaching you what buyers see and what they want to see and by giving specific instructions on how to make your home (now a "property") show its best, many sellers can make their home a showcase themselves.  We can help for a few hours or a few days - whatever is needed.  A few hundred dollars of investment can literally reap you thousands in return.

Vacant Homes:  Seeing only the "shell" of a house, buyers have no reference point for how their furniture will fit into the scale of the room.  Lifeless & cold, vacant homes often take three times longer to sell than occupied homes.  Home Staging Designs of California brings in furniture & accessories in the style of the home to show buyers how they can live in the space - highlighting at least the main living & entertaining areas, along with the master bedroom.

Trying to decide where to begin was my big problem. I am home-decorating challenged, but Beth gave me the confidence to do the job.  She walked me through my house and helped me pick out kitchen vinyl, carpet, and paint colors that would work together.  As we went through each room, she told me what things to move out to "declutter", and things to add and where to put them, ie. flowers and  pictures.  It was a lot of work, but when we had our open house, we couldn't believe it was ours!  We felt like we lived in a model home.   I could not have done it without her help.
