Testimonial for Holy Moses Loans and Chris Moses:
My husband and I owe a debt of gratitude to Chris Moses and Holy Moses Loans that I am not sure we can ever repay or properly convey...
We live in Carson City, Nevada - a couple of blocks from the Governor's Mansion. We bought our home approximately three years ago and have been pouring every penny we have into remodeling the home. It is a 1966 slump stone, built in one of the nicest neighborhoods on the west side of Carson City. When we first saw the house, we immediately fell in love with the one story. The spacious bedrooms and the layout of the house were perfect for us and we could see the potential of the home and what it could be turned into.
We were on a financing plan that would assist us with the renovations and in a 3-step move, get us a low-interest 30-year-fixed arrangement. Our first two loans were no problem at all and everything was on track. With spotless credit and determination, we felt that a solid plan was in place. We refinanced and took 70k out and put it back into the home. We took a further 100k out of our own pockets to finish the majority of the renovations. The house is now almost completely remodeled and is lovely. A real home that is warm and inviting. We had almost reached our goal and then the sub-prime disaster hit.
Although our home is NOT sub-prime, we do hold what is termed a jumbo loan. That is any loan over 408k. Our income was more than adequate to handle the mortgage on the home and we had, what we thought, was a solid plan in place. All that we needed to do was refinance this last time and we would have everything in place and things could start settling back to a normal state for our work and family. The loan we were asking for was LESS than the previous mortgage...
Six months later, we still could not refinance. We had turned to a friend in the mortgage business who gave us bad advice and then did not finish the job he started. We then turned to our bank who we had been with for almost 20 years. Since I am self-employed, they suddenly denied us a new mortgage even though they held the current one and all payments had been made early. Distraught and in a near state of panic, we spoke with John Vettel, a trusted real estate agent and friend who recommended Chris Moses.
Let me start with the fact that Chris is a Marine - that won major points in our book right up front since we are big supporters of the military. Chris then went on to formulate a comprehensive plan for our mortgage AND our finances. In fact, we have never seen anyone who is so detail-oriented. He proved to be a miracle worker and good to his word and got us qualified with a major mortgage lender. He did the extra work to verify my self-employment and income - he absolutely seems tireless in his efforts for his clients.
When my husband suddenly had to take another job out of state, Chris was there for us. We thought for sure that that would end our refinancing effort, but Chris, with dogged determination, got us qualified again within days. We were speechless - getting a mortgage these days in this financial climate all depends on your broker and we had found the right one (someone must be looking out for us...).
We are now refinanced and can get through the end of the remodel and put the home on the market with the help of John Vettel in the spring. We are certain of a good sale. We can never thank Chris enough, except to tell everyone that he is the mortgage broker that can make it happen for you. Don't go to anyone else and go through what we did - make Chris your first stop. He's absolutely the best...

Good Morning Chris,
SO, what feedback can I give you other than I think you are great at what you do. Our clients who have worked with you have all been pleased and from this side of things, you are great to work with - you tell me honestly what you can and can't do and have always given me accurate timeline info (a definitely plus - so many lenders will "lead you on" with the "oh I will have that for you tomorrow" phrase, and tomorrow never seems to get here). So, having said that, just keep doing what you are doing. I have no complaints.
The only thing I would suggest is that you can save a little bit of money by not sending out all your mailers/pop-bys to me - you don't have to sell yourself to me, Chris and you forget, I see all the Buffini stuff too. I know it isn't much, but you really can save a stamp/pop-by where I am concerned. I appreciate you thinking of me, but to tell you the truth, I feel guilty that you are sending info to me. Just stop by and say "Hi" every once in a while, don't need "stuff" to keep you in mind. So there you have it, my one great recommendation. You are doing a great job and are easy to work with - keep it up and let's have a great 2008!
Have a Great Day! Jennifer
Dear Chris,
Just a quick email here to let you know how thankful (and completely satisfied) I have been, working with you through re-financing twice on my home. The Home Equity you arranged has worked out perfectly, allowing me to proceed with my future plans. It has been a pleasure working with you, not only because of your professionalism, but your patience and understanding has given me complete peace of mind. Should I need further assistance (or have any questions) it is very comforting knowing that you are there.
Thanks again, Chris.
Sincerely,
Floyd Johnson
