About Irving J. Diaz
Irving J. Diaz founded SouthOne Capital in September 2007 and currently resides as the senior managing director with the responsibility of overseeing all capital markets operations. Headquartered in Miami and with a presence throughout Florida, SouthOne Capital provides a full range of financial services for the commercial real estate small, middle and upper markets. The firm provides advisory services by offering clients counsel on investment analysis and planning and provides brokerage services by arranging both debt and equity capital for commercial property transactions with funding needs between $500k to over $100 million.
Prior to having founded SouthOne Capital, Irving was managing director of Irving J. Diaz & Associates, a South Florida based boutique commercial real estate advisory firm focusing on high net worth individuals with investment assets valued between $1 million and $10 million. His responsibilities included managing a group of five brokers and overseeing real estate acquisitions and portfolio management on behalf of clients. Before his entrepreneurial quest, Irving was president and senior broker of HCBB Properties based in Coral Gables, FL, a commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm specializing in healthcare related properties. His responsibilities included overseeing the entire company including operations, finance and marketing divisions. Irving's real estate and finance experience have deep roots in the South Florida market dating back to 1993 as both an investor and having been associated with other real estate companies such as Century 21, DRE and Camp & Associates International.
Irving holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Florida International University; an Associate's degree with a concentration in Economics from Miami Dade College and is currently working towards the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, considered the PhD in commercial real estate. Irving also served on the planning and zoning board for a local South Florida city where he was vice-chairman and today remains involved in community affairs.
