John's wife, Sherri, was diagnosed with a fairly rare strain of a slow cancer 12 years ago.  Because of this, John has been the sole bread-winner for his family this entire time.  Having the pending gloom hanging over their heads, John was never able to invest for himself.  Everything extra that John has had for the past dozen years has gone straight into spoiling his bride.  The sad news is that she is now near the end of her journey and at home receiving hospice care.
