Valparaiso, Indiana - A Taste of Heaven
Quaint and beautiful Valparaiso, Indiana is located in Northwest Indiana just an hour away from the big city of Chicago. Having lived in the large metropolitan area of Houston, Texas to the little town of Eagle, Colorado, population of 3500 people, I now enjoy living in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Large enough to be called a city but still small enough to not worry about rush hour traffic with the ability to get just about anywhere in Valpo in 15 minutes or less. About the only things that will slow you down are trains! And we have lots of those that come through town.
Valparaiso, Indiana, home of Orville Redenbacher and the Annual Popcorn Festival offers the perfect mix of small town and big city. Downtown offers a variety of shops and restaurants. The Parks and Recreation Department in Valparaiso, Indiana is one of the best. There is never a lack of things to do whatever the season. Chicago is also easily accessible by train, bus, or car for either a weekend getaway or a quick trip for a concert, museum, or downtown stroll.
