I was born in Hawaii, but I've lived in Solano County since 1969. I met my husband in 1984, and we traveled and lived throughout the U.S and even worked and lived abroad for a few years, returning to California in 1997. My extended family has been in Solano County since the 1930s, so I know Solano County, and the surrounding areas well.
I now sell homes and parcels of land where I played as a child, rode horses, hiked and picked fruit. As a REALTOR®, I'm proud to call Solano County home, and it's exciting to see how much it's grown. But I also feel sad sometimes when I think back to all the natural space, open pastures and acres and acres of fruit orchards, that have been given over to well planned growth.
Don't get me wrong, Solano County is still a wonderful, beautiful, and simple
place to call home (see pictures). It's a great place to raise your family, and with such close proximity to all of Northern California's natural wonders, like Lake Tahoe, the Napa Valley, Stinson Beach, Monterey and the breathtaking Redwood forests...well, it's a simply fabulous place to live. Plus, the home prices are so much more affordable than the greater bay area! The houses are just as big, just as nice, but so much more affordable. Especially now!
Please read the community and area facts included in this blog.
I'm married to a wonderful man. We celebrated our 20th anniversary this year and look forward to 20 more! My husband, Thom, works for FedEx in Oakland, CA. We have one daughter and son-in-law who live in Texas with our 7 year old grandson, Hunter. We live in Vacaville, with our 4 cats. Yes, I am "that crazy cat lady down the street" and proud of it. We support the SPCA and encourage all our friends/clients to spay and neuter their pets.
I'm very active in my community. We gladly support the community that has provided our family so much over the years. I've served on a wide variety of boards and commissions over the years, including: the Dixon Boys & Girls Club, SafeQuest Solano, Co-Chair Relay for Life (2005), Solano County Arts Council - Commissioner (District 5), Celtic Nations Festival - Event Coordinator, and many more. I hope to keep you aware of charities and fundraisers that I support on this blog.
I love to sing and dance, and read and travel. I'm a political junkie, I love public speaking, and I've been a featured guest on KGO radio, PSA's for KPFA, as well as Solano College Speakers Series, and I've given various talks to local civic organizations. My husband and I travel extensively, and have been to almost every continent (2 more to go!) We love to entertain, and garden. I'm a voracious reader, and share everything I can with my clients through this blog, my other blogs (links below) as well as my quarterly newsletter.
