About James:

I am a Denver native and I have worked in the real estate and mortgage industry since 1984.  As a dedicated public servant, I am passionate about the arts and have served on numerous boards and commissions.  As past Chairman of the Colorado Real Estate Appraisers Board, I have a broad understanding of the appraisal industry and I know how to work to maximize the Realtor, lender, appraiser dynamic.  I am presently a member of the board of directors for the Denver Art Museum and served as a Mayoral appointee on the "Architect Selection Committee" for the expansion of the Denver Art Museum.  In 2003, I received the "Juanita Ross Gray Award for Community Service" presented by the Denver Public Library.

Outside of my professional and community interest, I have a deep interest in equestrian sports, motor sports, cycling, and antiquarian book collecting; in particular the works of Winston Churchill.

I am committed to adding value for my clients and referral partners throughout the mortgage process and beyond the closing. By utilizing a unique consultative approach to gain understanding of my client's long term and short-term goals, I am able to deliver tremendous value for my clients and referral partners.

In 2005, I was awarded the professional designation of Certified Mortgage Lender (CML) by the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association.

I am the producer and host of "The Real Estate Today Show." The program is a call in talk format and features guest from the real estate and mortgage banking community. Please visit my real estate and mortgage blog at http://www.realestatetodayblog.com/

I have spent more than twenty years adding value for my clients though the sound application of financial planning principals when consulting on a real estate transaction. The mortgage industry has changed significantly over the past decade with the introduction of a broader range of loan products than available in prior years. In addition, we have seen the interest rate market decline to levels not seen in forty years making homeownership affordable to a wider range of individuals. We recognize the need to provide comprehensive advice delivered in a manner that is convenient to today's homeowner or real estate investor. This realization has resulted in the creation of the Real Estate Today! radio program.

My mission through the radio broadcast is to add value for our listeners and to be a unique provider of useful information concerning real estate. I invite my listeners to engage with us and help us build the community of individuals who have benefited from our commitment to excellence in real estate.

Living An Adventurous Life

James Holmes, Izzi Crit 2006I have been blessed with a seamingly unquinchable thurst for adventure, which has most often played out through my passion for high speed, high skill sport including auto racing and cycling. I have enjoyed these activities and despite the occasional risk to life and limb, these activies have added tremendous value to my life. I have made friends and challenged myself physically and mentally through my pursuits and I have used many lessons learned in my business.

In 2006, I became a competitive amatuer cyclist racing in Colorado for Team JR Engineering now known as Team Pro Design - 24 Hour Fitness. In July, I survived a violent crash hitting a iron guardrail at a speed in excess of 30 mph at impact on a mountain road while training with my team. I suffered a broken collar bone and road rash. More than my body my spirit was a little broken with the realization that the racing reason that I was enjoying with some success had suddenly ended.

I often flash back to the moment when I knew I was in serious trouble and I think of how much worse the crash could have been and I realize that God has put me here for a purpose and my credo to "add value to the lives of other in order to leave the world a better place" must have meaning. My approach to life has been forever changed and I see the accident as a blessing. I have returned to my training and I am looking forward to a great season in 2007.

Areas of Expertise

As a client of personal service organizations over the years I have observed a clear distinction between service providers who take the time to understand and address client needs and those who simply move clients through a standardized system.

As a twenty year veteran of the mortgage industry, I have spent countless hours analyzing each detail of the mortgage financing process - in excess of twenty events.  I continue to improve our systems, perform site visits with other top performing mortgage professionals from around the country, and emulate service excellence models such as Nordstrom's, Four Seasons, and Ritz Carlton.  As a team we strive to improve ourselves and our ability to serve our clients.   The most important action we take in our quest to provide exceptional customer service is listening carefully to our clients.   We believe that the truest measure of our success is our clients' satisfaction and willingness to refer us to their friends and family members.

Following are our core values entitled "Our Tenets for Success", which represents our service commitment to you as a valued client.   We strive to simplify the process, minimize the effort and time required of the client, and work their personal mortgage planner to structure mortgage financing that maximizes the effectiveness of our clients overall financial strategy.

Through our consultation we will prioritize the following when making recommendations:

  • Desire to minimize your overall cost of your loan
  • Desire to minimize your monthly loan payment
  • Desire to maximize equity accumulation through principal reduction
  • Desire to maximize tax deductibility
  • Desire to reduce long and short-term debts
  • Desire to maximize your savings

Testimonials

Many mortgage companies tell you whatever you want to hear to get your business and usually what you get in practice is something far less than what you were promissed. James and his staff have followed through on every aspect of what they told us they would do in the beginning. We sell homes to many first time homebuyers, who are sometimes difficult to qualify and always maintenance intensive due to their inexperience. James and his team have an excellent system of follow-up and reporting and as a result we have been able to convert many prospects to buyers that would ordinarily have been lost to us. They also have access to very competitive and cutting edge assistance programs that create opportunities of homeownership for buyers that would otherwise not be able to afford a home.

James is a smooth, informed professional in the mortgage business. In fact, he is so savvy that he took my suggestion about writing a book about his business for consumers. It's about to be in print. Terrific guy to work with.
