The Village downtown has always been a popular place for locals and area residents to meet and socialize. But the Village expansion is ramping this up to a whole new level! More shops, more food, a theatre and even a swanky hotel will grace The Village starting Fall 2007!
The Claremont Colleges bring an incredilbly eclectic resource to our community every Fall in the form of college students! If you are thinking of the movie "Animal House" and its revelling obnoxious bunch think again. Our Claremont College students are among the highest of academic achievers. Sure, they like to have fun, but they are here to study and to give back to the community. They are one of our best assets!
Claremont schools boast an impressive draw among locals moving to our area. Excellent public and private schools in the city are cherished by discerning parents.
Known locally as "The City of Trees," Claremont is very ecologically perceptive. Recently, the purchase of Johnson's Pasture is a clear example of a grassroots effort to preserve open space for our community.
Finally, real estate values in Claremont are holding up quite well. DQNews reports that the median price of Claremont homes (single family residences) are up just over 10% from June 2006. Condos are up slightly as well, though this number is less reliable due to the number of sales month to month. This is great news since many surrounding communities are either flat or losing ground.
For these reasons and many more (the great weather), Claremont truly is one of the best cities in the good ol' USA!
