Community Involvement

A California native, I first came to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1985 to study Biochemistry at U.C. Berkeley. Like many others, I fell in love with the Bay Area and have been here ever since with my husband and two daughters.

My passion has always been to help others, especially in the area of education.  I served for two years as the Director of Impacting Asian Communities for Tomorrow (ImpACT), where I planned and supervised various academic enrichment programs and field trips for under-privileged Asian youth and elementary school students in inner-city Oakland.

At Taylor Middle School in Millbrae, I served as the PTA Volunteer Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Communications Chair, and Executive Vice President.  For the Mills High School PTO, I served as the Recording Secretary  and Corresponding Secretary, and am serving as a co-president for the 2012-2013 school year.  In addition, I was the Secretary for the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Parents Group for the San Mateo Unified School District from 2006-2008.

I have two daughters, ages 17 and 20, and love spending time with them, joking around, singing, and talking about the latest books they’re reading.  My older daughter is in her third year at Wellesley College in Boston, and the younger daughter is in her senior year at Mills High.

Although Korean by descent, my family and I lived, studied and worked in Beijing, China for four years. Despite the traffic, pollution, and the language barrier, we developed a fondness for the people there and hope to visit again in the future.

I enjoy learning about different languages and cultures. In addition to proficiency in Korean, I have studied (though woefully not mastered) Mandarin, Spanish, German, Japanese, and even some Greek!

As a real estate agent, I understand that buying or selling a home is so much more than a business transaction.  For many, buying a home is one of the largest investments in one's life, and not a decision to be rushed into or taken lightly. It can symbolize a new phase in life or the realization of a hard-earned dream. Likewise, selling a home also marks a major transition in life, sometimes exciting and sometimes difficult.  Whatever the situation, my goal is to help make the transition as smooth as possible for you.
