How I Got to Be Here
I began working at Prudential Preferred realtors® as an assistant for my mom, Caren Horton. She had been a real estate agent for 13 years and absolutely loved it. I started out by assisting her with computer applications and basic office organization. Then we developed a sort of partnership that evolved with me getting my real estate license and becoming her licensed assistant. Things were going great and our different styles of business complimenting each other's. Eventually, our goal was to become a real estate team, with one of us as a buyer\'s specialist and the other as a listing specialist.
My mom passed on in March of 2006. With losing my mother, I have been faced with definite uncertainty in my personal and professional life. I am clear though that this is the livelihood for me. I truly enjoy the daily responsibilities and challenges that come with this business. I am continually growing and looking for new ideas and experiences that will better me as a real estate agent. With that, I have learned that being a great realtor means different things for different people and I am committed to being the best realtor for my clients. Throughout my journey, I am taking my mom with me in hopes that I will become the great woman and realtor that she was.

Hobbies
I enjoy riding my bike in the country, which I really don\'t do often enough. I love soaking up the sun and hanging out with my family at our lake cottage. But who doesn\'t, right? I\'d like to learn how to sew and someday take painting classes; both are definitely on my "to-do" list.
Family Info
I have an amazing family that branches out all over the state. My aunt Cathy Tishhouse is actually a real estate agent in Southeastern Michigan. My uncle Steve Tishhouse is a well respected electrician in the greater Kalamazoo area. Thankfully the rest of my family, who are not in the business, are close enough that I can see them as often as I want.
Places I Have Lived
I was born in Gobles, Michigan and moved to Otsego, Michigan where I graduated from high school. I currently live in Kalamazoo. I have definitely grown to love Michigan and will probably stick around for quite awhile. The unpredictability keeps things interesting and the long winters make us appreciate our summers (right?). There is nothing better though than a great Michigan summer day!
